I have Tata AIG too.. I am going to file a claim soon for missed flight/ luggage delay, etc.. I haven't had an experience yet with them, but my colleagues who have used them recently and multiple times, are quite happy with their service..

P.S.- Their experience has been for filing Medical claims on a travel insurance and not for any airlines related claims.. just in case..

Do remember that if the flight was delayed due to the airlines fault then you can also claim compensation under EU law. You have to be flying to/from a EU country though.

The country was French Polynesia. I am not sure it comes in EU. The flight was delayed 13 hours due maintainence as per notice put up by the airline.

Yep that does not count as being the EU.

I feel they will succeed in getting pax on the flights primarily bcoz big chunk of travel community is cost sensitive and usually go with the cheaper fares available.. but whether that translates into profits is another story ..

What do y'all think of the USD INR rate over the next few months? Stable around 62? Any election impact?

i have a feeling its going to stay the same for a few months atleast....not sure how much of an election impact there will be....i don't see either the bjp or congress plus their allies coming up with the required numbers to form the government....this is going to be a mess....

I really hope it goes down. The higher rate is really hurting the importers in India. Also paying for travel in $'s really stings now.

I agree entirely.

Conversely it also means that hotel redemptions in India are of very little "value" these days, as hotel INR rates when converted to USD show poor use of points.
