You can laugh but many a times I have discovered that INDI. USA routes are the last to get upgrades / retrofit improvements. Think that is because the seats are filled no matter what ....

Aside from the A380 I think India is served quite well. BA launched their F cabin to DEL within the first few weeks of it coming out, LH serves two cities with a brand spanking new 748, Qatar flies the 787 to DEL, SQ flies latest cabins, LX has A330 with the new F and J where as to cities in USA they still operate the old spec cabins.

Yes EK, EY and some middle east carriers you can point your finger at but then its a short haul route for them? Maybe it doesn't make sense for EK to fly a A380 to DEL when you have so many flights a day.

Which 2 cities? Oh right - BLR and DEL...

Also LH has their brand-new biz cabin on the MUC-BOM flight, with "new" F on the 744 to BOM from FRA.

EK flies their three class 777 F on a lot of routes too.

The underlying facts are true though... GoI will not adapt the bilaterals to allow A380s to land in India in order not to disadvantage Indian carriers. Many indian routes are the last to see new or retrofitted equipment because the seating capacity on the older equipment is higher. Hence EK sends in a ratty 772 to BOM on a 3 hr flight. LH/OS/LX are odd though: the 748 is sent in because it has the highest lift in the 747 bilateral restriction. The current C product was not deployed to BOM till 2006, but trialled first in DEL in 2004. LX rolled out their new A330 with new F &C to DEL, but OS only started DEL and YYZ with the new interior when all aircraft were retrofitted :p

I have a KLM flight booked for early next year and that has the new Biz cabin on it which is just being launched now.

The only problems come from your own siblings/ relatives.
Get your mom to make a 'will' naming you as a beneficiary, otherwise the bureaucracy will make you run around, even though there is little that they can do.

new to this forum.. this may have been discussed before.. havent been thru all the previous posts.. but need some advice.. is there any hope for kingmiles.. i have about 70k of them.. will any other airline honor them??

Welcome to flyertalk, collectormelon. Unfortunately, there is no hope for your kingmiles as Kingfisher have stopped all operations. Their license to fly was suspended by DGCA in 2012. No other airlines will honor those miles since Kingfisher doesn't have the funds to compensate them.

No airline will accept these or any other airlines miles. You can't go to UA with 9W miles and book a ticket. You need to go to 9W and get them to book a ticket for you on UA. As Mr Bean said since KF has suspended operations your miles are worthless.
