The miles will probably be disappearing anyway, so you're best off trying to get some value for them through these partner awards...

but there would be no value if i'm denied boarding....in any case, once i've booked on a partner airline then i can't make any changes....

I am currently in the US and finding it hard to redeem the 100k odd IT miles left. Have sent several emails to them with the partner redemption form completed for DL domestics, but they haven't responded. Also tried calling but no success! :(

So can you transfer KF miles to any other programs? Or redeem them for shopping vouchers or something!? Desperate times desperate measures!!!

Yup! The proverbial toaster would be fine too. And apt given that IT is close to toast at this time! ;)

Can the partners cancel tickets booked as per FF agreement ?? I mean, there surely would be some redressal mechanism for the affected flyer ?

If they won't get paid for them and their bank guarantee system fails (IATA) then I assume they can.

I guess its like me giving you a post dated check but then closing my bank account.

i think its a little different here....its not as if kingfisher has only made a booking but the partner airline has already issued the ticket....if they do end up cancelling then i hope they give me advance notice....i would hate to get to the airport to find out my ticket is no longer valid....

I am guessing that you issued a Kingfisher Award then the partner airline has no control over the ticket until you take the first flight. It will be issued on Kingfisher stock so the partner airline will not receive payment till the flight is taken from IATA. We all know what is going on there.

Is it a eticket? What are the first three number? Should be something like xxx-xxxxxxxx

The first three digits are the issuing carrier and if this is KF then they have issued your ticket.

Just as I thought. So now if IATA have stopped all dealings with KF then its a KF check that the other airline will be accepting when the bank account is shut.

How much the other airline trusts KF to honor that they will pay is anyone's guess.

Maybe I am wrong about this..... But I think it's gonna be hard for KF partner tickets now.
