Yes in Y. I know 25k is a little high. But if UL via avios gets me there with just 9k avios once they become available then I will cancel AI and just use avios to get there via CMB.

It will be 18k for a RT plus YQ with BA.

Just checked. It is 668 miles direct and 900+ miles via CMB. So it would be a zone 2 award for 7500 avios 1 way or 15k for RT.
AI had good availability on the dates I wanted. I checked 2 different dates for outbound and return and they had availability on both dates. I told them I would call them back once my MR to Krisflyer transfer is completed and will check on the YQ on my next call. I should have asked them yesterday before initiating the transfer :(.

But ITA is showing YQ of 6680 which is what will mostly be charged I would assume.

I think BA prices each flight. So it would be BLR to CMB and then CMB to MLE. Both fall under the 650 mile threshold so it would 4.5k per flight.

Ya good point. I usually redeem for direct fligths from BA so had not thought about a 1 stop flight being considered as two under 650mile awards. If there is a 1 to 1.5 MR to BA then it would cost 12k MR for a RT which is a good deal.

Does anyone know of an app similar to shazam that recognizes Indian songs?

I have my doubts if UL will join before Nov. How much will it cost to refund the AI ticket?

For me CX is much better. Although to be fair I am only comparing RJ on their hard product as I have never flown them. But then not many airlines can beat CX and SQ which for me are the best two airlines in the world.

CX in F is absolutely fantastic. Better than SQ in my opinion.
If it is J you're after, the new J on the 77W HKG-SFO is the best J product out there. Can't say the same about the 744 HKG-SFO with its coffin seats, but its probably better than RJ.

CX - no question about it! I have flown them about a dozen times in the last two years in transpac J/F.

Keyser Feb 25, 2013 11:59 am

UA Fan Feb 25, 2013 1:00 pm

CX probably also has a shorter flight right?
