Misuse of intercom on a charter flight can get a crew fired: http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2016/0...t/?intcmp=hpff

I wonder if the DGCA metes out the same punishment to crews ( piots) that exchange blows in the cockpit ? Come on the flight deck drunk ?

Suspend, Investigate and Terminate/Clear, SOP for any airline/CAA.

Having difficult why Indian Media/AV Pundits react differently for the same process though DGCA seems to be consistent recently.

Google search show three celebrity/festivity related incidents in recent past.

AI- Ms.Menon in observer seat
SG- Holi Celebrations
9W- Mr.Nigam's impromptu performance

In all three instances DGCA forced airline to suspend their crew. SG event could be considered harsh towards the crew because event was organized by the airline and airline followed all rules, ie., additional staff, CC occupied empty FC seat(irony most airlines/CAAs trying to bring back this old regulation)

9W event was not organized by airline. Video shows pax were standing. In any case let DGCA complete its investigation.

I would be worried if DGCA doesn't respond to anyone not following regulations, by doing so it will be looking at another downgrade.

What's the general opinion on flying MS (EgyptAir) out of UAE into West Africa on their B737 / A320 fleet? I have an option of an excellent fare along with *A Gold benefits. TK / ET being the next best, are price about 50% more and not so great timings on TK.

Appreciate any advice on MS and transit at CAI.

Hello Chai Stall.. I am debating on transiting via DEL and need some thoughts.
Arriving DEL around 1AM (LH/LX); Need to connect to MAA.
There is an Indigo flight at 3:45AM ...which would be fine.

However, I am not sure how easy it is to get to T_1 from T-3....do I have to take a bus of some sort? Or can I walk? Have not been to DEL in many years....
The other option is AI at 6AM or so...which will be T3. However, that means I will be sitting around for couple extra hours.
Will try to see if I can get to MAA direct without the DEL transit. However, fares to DEL always seem cheaper.

Just walk out and get a cab. Its only a 10 minute drive to T1. I am sure there are buses but its far easier and quicker to just taxi it. Walking will take you a good hour. That's if you don't get run down at that time of the night.

The AI domestic lounge is pretty dire at that time of day. Did something similar in December (arr QR at 2:45am, left on AI at 7am), boring as hell.
