While I agree with you however it seems the "Parks" are garnering a not so great rep after renovations certainly the PHV is a glaring example. Just saying

I'm even more curious what you thought of the toiletries, after seeing the most recent replies!
I finished my stay there (was just there for one night on Saturday). Obviously everyone will have their own opinion regarding the renovation. To me, as long as the bed is comfortable, the AC works, and there is a good shower then stuff such as the location, service, breakfast, etc. are much more important. One complaint (which easily could have been my fault) was that the thermostat was very confusing. I thought the toiletries were fine but honestly I'm not very picky so probably not the right person to ask.

To me the location and breakfast are unbeatable - the breakfast being out of this world good. I'm at the Gritti Palace now which has a good breakfast but nothing in terms of quality to the PH Milan.

They did note that only the 4th floor is open right now so my understanding is that there aren't any suites available in case anyone is hoping for an upgrade. They said they hoped that to change in April but weren't yet sure.

If people want to write this hotel off due to the doors to the rooms looking cheap, so be it, to each their own. However, I had a fantastic stay.

I've stayed at a couple that give stuffed animals to the kids - a squirrel in NYC, a panda in DC. The kids got all sorts of goodies in Tokyo, but I forget exactly what.

Ah PHV doesn't/didn't follow this rule. Back in February we asked concierge where the closest ATM was and they gave us their little postcard map to draw out the directions. I mean we didn't need an escort but an offer would have been nice if this is actually their rule!

To be clear, I am sure that this is within the property only Obviously it’s a nice plus when you get shown somewhere nearby as well.

Generally speaking how generous is this property in terms of Globalist suite upgrades?
I am considering going to Milan in fall, and hopefully all reno work will be done by then.

I cannot believe a premium suite here runs 80k points now, when it's only marginally larger than a standard suite. 80k points/night is just obscene.

We Hear you!
Hyatt has turned into Hilton and Marriott sadly to some degree on the transaction side
when it comes to the most desirable premium properties for redemption
I will be staying less frequently and traveling less overall but still staying with Hyatt
where it still makes good sense
More than ever I turn to a variety of other programs more frequently stay elsewhere or use revenue
where it no longer makes great sense to redeem
San Francisco is one example where the Hyatt redemption is totally out of whack

Prestige Suite after 2 years of renovation:

Booked a free night, received this great upgrade. But the new style is not mine....

It’s as if someone decorated their apartment with what they thought modern looks like and did it cheaply. It lacks any character.

the magic seems to be gone. The old style was like moody and sexy. This renovation is boring

I recognise some of the design elements from the Park Hyatt Bangkok (which I largely judge as a missed opportunity on the design side). Both the sofa and the bathtub look almost identical. I really hope this is not the new Park Hyatt brand standard.

They definitely didn’t hire anyone on Ed Tuttle’s level for this renovation and seem to have gone into the new generic PH catalogue. The entry bathroom door looks like PH Bangkok and Andaz Seoul.

Thanks for sharing. Very bland design indeed.
