Check In Arrived to the hotel and check in was swift. I booked on points and was upgraded to a Deluxe room. Like Paris there was availability for higher room types but the hotel showed to be at 100% within a few days of arrival.I could not bare an escort to the room at that hour because we had been travelling for 12 hours and I suspect the Night Duty Manager was on his own so he simply checked us in and walked us to the lift. Room Walking to the room the interior was quite striking marble. Found ourselves in a Corner room and when I opened the 3 fold window shutters was stunned to have direct views of the Galleria immediately across from us.The room felt almost cave like of marble, stone and wood, but least had a couch that one could sit on. The bathroom was almost the size of the room which countered the small space. We looked for cold water and biazzrely the mini bar fridge was in the bathroom glass cupboard under the sink. Service The staff are absolutely delightful and very engaging, especially the waiters at breakfast. The male waiter knew our coffee and juice orders and we had a playful exchange with him each day. It was a complete contrast to Paris where staff served you silently.Again, due to the electronic mini bar I would order an ice bucket via the Hyatt app so we could have cold drinks. It was always in the room before we arrived. We drove to the MO Lake Como for lunch and the Concierge secured us the middle table on their verandah. We prebooked all our sighseeing tickets because I didn't see an advantage to using the Concierge (La Scala Guided tour, Armani/Silos, Duomo Guided Tour). Dining The F&B, as expected, is great quality, the breakfast venue stunning and the bar was packed on weeknights. One evening they had an Arab DJ playing Arabic pop and when I told him I like his choice or artists he continued to play them while we ordered cocktails. Location Located immediately next to the Galleria it ۪s 1 min from the Duomo, 3 mins to La Scala and walking distance to most other sights. Like the PH Vend̫me this means you can do some sights then come back and chill out of the heat then go back out again. The only downside was that Ubers don ۪t frequent this area and it takes at least 15 mins to order. It appeared not many vehicles enter the central zone. Spa The spa was nice except the jacuzzi was unisex and small - odd given the hotel is frequented by Arabs. The Vichy shower has a heap of settings including music! Overall Overall we thoroughly enjoyed this stay, far more than Paris. The location is impeccable, the staff delightful but make sure to request an exterior facing room to avoid the dreaded courtyard.
Great review and brings back memories. When I look back the PHM and it's service frankly has passed up PHV, interesting enough Claudio opened the Milan hotel went on to the Martinez then to Paris. It doesn't appear the furnishings have been refreshed or maybe that room which oddly appears like one we had in the past great view of the Galleria. The breakfast service at PHV has changed noticeably from your review it appears Milan maintains what all of us remember !

Anyway travel safe and thanks again

I echo the previous shared sentiments. My last stay here (over a year ago now) was with no status and yet I thought the service was excellent regardless of the hard product wear. I've since come to find out that it was this PH that had noted some preferences in my profile, which other properties have since followed to my delight.

Milan and Paris had the same architect yet Milan has been able to maintain it's self threw these years, like Paris it has a superior location and a great bar.

Ditto for me on the amazing service, Duomo location, dated (classic retro luxury ) designs, etc... that I received at the property after a 5 night stay this past week-end. To me it's all about the heartwarming service from many folks that we interacted with everyday at breakfast, drinks, dinner or just the front line personnel upon our return to the hotel from our daily outings.

Totally opposite from the typical interaction we received from the PH Vendome in 2017. MAYBE that's what blew us away, that we used the Vendome as a PH baseline for our expectations here.

Sure the interior could use a refresh (rumoured to be coming in 2 years or so according to some Guest Services folks), but the property location and staff won me over. Call me impressed is the bottom line for me, and I look forward to visiting again pre/post renovation.

Many herein who think the PH Milan service is outstanding will be quite surprised that it's comparable and not necessarily better than several other options in the city.

Even the Excelsior Gallia hotel has just as wonderful service and F&B--as well as an incredible modern Art Deco hard product that puts the PH (and FS) to shame IMO.

I just finished a spectacular, albeit very short, stay here. The location is unbeatable, which was very important for our one night stay. I booked on points and was proactively upgraded to a premium suite that was huge and gorgeous. Loved the decor throughout the hotel, though the corridors are a bit dark (and not really in a moody way). F&B were quite impressive. We ended up having dinner at La Cupola despite tending to prefer to eat outside of our hotel. We loved the food and did not regret staying in. Globalist breakfast is high quality and very pleasant under the glass dome. I do wish they’d start it a bit earlier than 7am, though. It makes for a hurried morning when you have to catch a flight out of MXP. And as others have mentioned, the service was fantastic across the board - very warm and welcoming. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

I'm a freshly baked Globalist and have a night in Milan coming up. I've stayed at the Excelsior Gallia twice before and liked it (I'm also Marriott Titanium) - and it's considerably cheaper for my dates.
Is the PH significantly better? Anyone stayed at both?

I think both are excellent hotels, and you will not go wrong with either. However, if the rate at the Excelsior Gallia were considerably cheaper, I would probably lean towards that.

On each of my trips to Milan (usually 4-5 days), I would stay at PH Milan for the first 3 (closer to shopping), and then move over to the Excelsior for the last 1-2 nights. I like being close to the train station so that I can just walk over to take the Malpensa Express to MXP for my flight.

I usually get quite good suite upgrades at the Excelsior, and the suites are of a good size.

In my opinion, breakfast at PH is better than at the Excelsior.

Anyone staying here at the moment? My wife and I are staying next week and it seems like Milan is basically quarantined. Would love some insight on how that is impacting this location.

If you don't live in Italy...you sure you really want to go to Italy next week?

I would avoid Italy at the moment with the Corona 19 there.

Bummer - closed through June, just got a note about it. Not even sure if I'm able to keep my May Italy trip anyways, but this is a bummer.

Thank you for choosing our Park Hyatt Milan for your upcoming stay.

Guided by our purpose of care for our guests and colleagues and in light of the recent regulations in terms of safety and hygiene, the hotel has temporary suspended all its operations to undertake some structural modifications.

For this reason the hotel will be temporary closed until 30 June, 2021 included. During this period, the hotel will not accept any reservations for rooms, the restaurant, bar or other services, and confirmed events and reservations will be cancelled.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to honor your upcoming reservation during this period; your reservation will be canceled without any penalty and you will receive a separate e-mail notification of the cancellation.

We know this is disruptive for you, and we apologize for the inconvenience this causes.

We sincerely thank you for your understanding and collaboration, and look forward to our hotel reopening and welcoming you.
