You shouldn’t even really have to create an account, it just charges the fare when you tap. And it caps the charges after a certain number of weekly uses (although I think it’s just calculated Monday to Monday rather than any 7 day period).

Interesting you ask... Takes me back to my recent experience.
So, first of all, there are two Aqueduct stations. If you are going to Manhattan, either should work, which is to say that the one literally called Aqueduct Racetrack, which is more-or-less across from the casino, should work.
Except that my farecard wasn't working and there were no machines and no personnel at this station -- at least not that I could find. So I walked down to the further Aqueduct station, and ended up with the same problems.
Maybe that was just me. But, eventually, I had to walk back upstream until I got to the Rockaway Blvd station -- not to be confused with Rockaway Junction (can't they come up with distinct names?) -- which functioned more like a full-service subway stop. I was able to re-charge my ticket, and it worked.
Unless you get some better local knowledge here -- and especially if you don't have a well-loaded fare card -- I would just walk directly to the Rockaway Blvd station. Once you are there, by the way, you will have less time to wait, since Rockaway Blvd is actually the junction for trains heading into Manhattan from Lefferts Blvd, too.

Im going this week and it looks like you can walk indoors to one of the Aqueduct stations and take a shuttle to the other. Any idea if you can do this walk indoors? As the post above mentioned, trip planning apps seems to ignore these stops entirely so it is really unclear

Finally, the best part is to kill time at the casino. Surprisingly, their video poker machines have better odds than the ones in Vegas, though not sure how long this will last. By the way, anyone familiar with NY gambling laws? Are their video poker machines' RNG regulated to be 100% random as the ones in Nevada?.

New York state has a mix of class II and III, although Resorts World JFK does seem to be class II

FWIW, when I came to the hotel from JFK, getting off at the Aqueduct Racetrack station, I walked the walkway toward the building complex. This got me to the casino and a bunch of nonsense I can't quite remember, since I was going to the hotel, not the casino. Fortunately, the guy at the entrance saw my bags, took pity on me, and let me cut through the casino to the hotel.

I stopped playing immediately and will never put any serious money into it. It's only good for killing an hour or two with the minimum 25 cents wager.

I had a one night stay here last week. JFK layover of about 24 hours, 3pm - 2pm. I used Uber both ways. Very convenient pickup at T8 right outside baggage claim. About 10 minutes travel time. The cost was ~$40 roundtrip and Lyft prices were much higher than Uber. Upgraded to corner suite on 10th floor with a distant view of Manhattan. Front desk and club staff were excellent. Evening club offerings were very well done relative to other clubs, most of which are shamefully still closed. I paid ~$209 room rate which I booked when Hyatt had the PRIVATE promo sale. I could not see paying $300+ for this hotel however it is leaps and bounds better than most of the tired dumps around JFK (Hilton, Crowne Plaza, Radisson etc). I've stayed at TWA hotel several times but their pricing plus charging for late checkout has made it less attractive. I would definitely stay here again if I have a JFK layover.

Cheapest - bus, subway and bus. Probably about 80-90 minutes. Not recommended if you have bulky or heavy luggage.

Thanks, rates are $239 for me the dates I'm staying so decided to use my Cat 1-4 cert. Can't use it anywhere else in NYC nowadays anyway, so figured it was a decent redemption for a layover. Glad to hear the property is decent - surely looks better than the other dumps in the area.
