Hi All,
Many great reviews here.
Can anyone share if the bed mattress is soft medium or firm here?
Standard Hyatt Grand Bed?

I’ll be coming from the opening week of the Ritz Carlton Nomad
I don’t think I’ve ever been in a 1000 dollar a night plus tax standard room.
Thank god for points 100k of them per night 😮
Certainly won’t be my go to hotel!

Other than walking, what's the cheapest way to get to JFK? I'm looking at a fare with a 6:30 AM departure time.

While stating here, how far is the closest subway station? Possible to walk or I'll have to Uber and take a taxi?

A train Subway (Subway stop is in far parking lot of casino) and transfer to the JFK AirTrain PeopleMover train. Not the quickest, depending on transfer. Total trip is ~$10 with both trains.

Here now
Drove from Avis in Midtown through massive traffic and light rain.
It’s been years since I drove in Manhattan
Went through Midtown Tunnel had no idea they are cashless now
didn’t open the electronic sensor
I’m sure I will be billed but hopefully not fined.
Thank god it wasn’t Hertz or I might be in jail now
Got off on Linden Blvd off the Van Wyck and just couldn’t believe something this nice lies at the end of Linden & Rockaway Blvd. It’s an oasis like space ship
In a mostly otherwise blah neighborhood I would never otherwise be driving around in.
I’d prefer to be dropped off in the future.

The facility is very nice if not a bit sterile and loaded with that annoying stinky perfume scent in the lobby areas just awful.
Do know some like this but I have an allergic reaction to this one.
The Hotel is absolutely like a ghost town nearly deserted.Could count on one hand the guests I’ve seen in the last few hours.A number of airline personnel though which outnumbered guests.

Check in was fast and professional.
I was upgraded to an executive suite it’s quite nice.
It’s rare anyone ever mentions my lifetime Globalist status but they did and thanked me.
What made the stay special is the hotel filling the fridge with 4 large bottle of Perrier in the room fridge👍
It’s the rare hotels that actually look at your profile preferences
A fruit bowl was waiting in the living room and 2 small boxes of chocolates.
They were marked one year anniversary
Have not figured out if it’s the hotels anniversary or the chocolate maker.
There was a nice elegant card too with a gold foil lined envelope

Club lounge
When you have a near empty hotel the hot stuff sits out for hours none of it looked good
A Mexican thing mini dried out looking Kobe sliders and dry mini quiches
The only thing that I liked was the salad bar nice salad
and a well prepared Greek salad as well
packaged supermarket salad dressing seems tacky to me and took away from the offering
I’m also not a fan of shrink wrapped food items however just about everything including the fruit was
All cakes and cookies seem right out of a 7 -11 also covered in plastic baked sometime ago ugh
I’m hoping breakfast goes better.
I’m finding it hard to believe this complex will succeed

Like Resorts World in Vegas the beds are firm perhaps even firmer.
The Hotel entrance is actually the back of the complex.
The parking confused me.Hyatt said free parking because of my award stay but it’s actually free for everyone
The gates were up so I drove in but the machines said 5 dollars.
Asked why there is no valet and they said fear of Covid
When you call the hotel it takes a long while for them to answer the phones as they are in a call center in the Catskills
In the hotel they actually answer their phones.

No question this is the nicest hotel ever to grace the Queens JFK area
I brought up the fact that many aren’t happy there is no shuttle
and I got the feeling from management they might entertain
it in the future. My gut says unlikely.
Heading to check out the fitness center next. My flight tomorrow
cleared to first life is good 🙃

I think a shuttle is important for UA521. It departs at 6:30 AM and I .... the comfort of a shuttle during winter because NY is really cold!

I cancelled 2 reservations, left just one that is coming up in October.

Some friends were unable to check-in last month, they were asked for their bilt rewards id and were unable to produce once since they hadn't register for bilt. While trying to help them, I found the promotion's T&C: https://www.biltrewards.com/terms/hyattglobalrate

"You may be required to provide verification of Bilt membership at check-in."
You should have the app ready to show your bilt rewards id.

Fitness center is quite nice on the 2nd floor
I will be down loading photos upon my return
You have to give them credit when the new Ritz Carlton Nomad in NYC
has an inferior gym at over 1 k for standard room.
Also impressive Hyatt JFk has power shades.
New Ritz Carlton none
Hyatt JFk has extremely long hallways with ugly carpet that
looks like splattered dirt
It should hide dirt well! More important the rooms /suites are nice 👍

I did get a 4pm late checkout as a low level elite recently, so that was nice...Remember to use the elite desk though.

On the other hand, I would be happier if the food pantry staff were wearing masks...I was a little unnerved by their lack of masks.

Accommodations wise hands down!
But let us not forget in the true sense of the word it’s really not an airport hotel
15 to 20 min from just under 4 miles to jfk depending on traffic and no airport shuttle
It is a beautiful casino hotel in a so so neighborhood
with close enough access proximity to JFK

The morning was not off to a good start and I got stuck in the elevator
The safe with my passport is jammed showing error messages (isolated)

The lounge has a large variety of what I consider to be non Hyatt standard
Food quality.Generally Its below Hilton Garden inn Standards to be kind
and more Hyatt Place with better fruit

Almost no guests in the lounge and refrigerated poor quality
baking damp old pastry
Terrible bagels, come on in folks we are in New York how do
you find such low quality?
They look like thawed out Lenders from a freezer except they
would likely be better
I opted for toast instead with salmon. While it wasn’t the worst quality
Ive experienced coming from the Big Apple I would say sub par
but you could eat it if hungry with no other choice

The hard boiled eggs were not fresh.Steam table eggs sitting for an hour or more
I pushed aside the salmon and had a slice of ham and nice fruit and took off
Couldn’t do it after a week plus of superb dining in every hotel in NYC.
I’m spoiled now

Other odd data point
the toilet flushing is incredibly loud and powerful
Anyones business will be sucked down into the sewer with explosive force
What other poster would share such intimate personal details 😜😂
Likely to annoy others if you aren’t sleeping by yourself

I think you should tell the GM to implement a shuttle service.
