It can be suggested as I’m sure we aren’t the only ones that wish it or have requested such
There would likely be challenges. Both the density of traffic trying to come down the van wyck expressway
Its like a parking lot and then only a one lane down Linden Blvd for over a mile off the expressway to Rockaway Blvd
A ups driver double parked and we all had to stop and wait till he moved
If business gets bad enough they may be forced too.
And the costs associated with running a shuttle and liabilities
When the shuttle arrives late on pick up and arrivals guests typically complain
driving hotel scores down

Assume they are hoping gamblers will feed their ROI
Perhaps I was there on an off day but the crowd I partially witnessed do not seem affluent

Off topic I took a shower
it took considerable time for hot water to materialize
That water waste in a drought filled country in a number of cities it is an enormous tragedy of water wasted if every room has the same issue
Hopefully isolated

Looks like they cut down on the lounge food quality? It was fine before with decent yogurt.

Charging for parking would be a big minus.

Assume if they get popular enough or bring back valet they will charge for parking again. That's what they intended to do by original design
Coming from made to order breakfasts at 4 star hotels for ten days other than the fruit/produce which was fine it was poor.
Can't comment on their yogurt didn't observe it .I prefer European yogurt in glass containers but most have commercial plastic cups of it.
Bad baking quality.,shrink wrapped items days old, slowly rotating steam table dishes.etc

Hyatt Regency LAX does a great job as one of many shining Hyatt examples and they start with higher quality F& B products to begin with
HR LAX also bakes fresh in house frequently.
And is busy enough to do the turnover in the restaurant for buffet items and have great made to order in addition
When their Club lounge was open they had far less variety but higher quality by far compared to HR JFK Resorts World
Presentation is great if that means anything though it doesn't help the some of the sub par offerings IMO

Some folks here in this forum enjoy Hyatt Place breakfasts for example so everyone will have to make their own mind up.
I look at the 300 dollars plus tax on average price point and up
Which is higher than some of the hotels in NYC I stayed in,no shuttle, a poor breakfast, lack luster neighborhood to be kind and in my own conclusion
think to myself great accommodations/facility/recognition and gym but thats where it ends for me.Not a bad thing for certain
I could add to that the long wait for hot water in the shower, massive long hallways which translates to extra minutes/time to access lounge gym etc

That said I would consider going back for the room/hard product alone. Its hands down the best the area has ever had.
Truth be told I would also try and get a later flight and come from NYC avoid the area given the choice personally.
Still the hotel is recommend with its hard product alone
I can see some just staying at the full service Hilton JFK or other.Granted the property is a dog by comparison but
easy in and out with a shuttle to and from.Airport hotels are all about easy in & out,a shuttle and time productivity especially for business travelers
As much as many of us like a luxury product over something blah, boring and predictable its all about convenience first.
Hence why some of their customers are hoping for a shuttle. Then no taxi, train ride, share, rental car return etc

I found the hotel to have more in common with Las Vegas casino resorts than a NYC airport hotel, but if I had a long layover at JFK I would consider returning. Location Hyatt Regency unfortunately does not have a shuttle bus and is about 10 minutes away from the airport compared to the numerous “real” airport hotels which are 5 minutes or less. After considering the cost of taxi back and forth it can eat into the value of staying at HR if intending to use it only for a brief overnight. Room I booked the entry level room with points (cat 3) which was good value considering cash rates above 300 USD for this property. I was proactively upgraded to an Executive Suite as Globalist guest. The room layout was almost identical to Grand Hyatt SFO hence the reference to it above, the room had two full bathrooms (one of them with bathtub separate from a stand-alone shower) and minimal use of carpet which I loved. We had sunset views of the city sky line far in the distance from our 9th floor room. Surprisingly the bathroom amenities were not the regular Pharmacopia found at other HRs; normally when hotels deviate from brand standards it’s for a cheaper variety, but here it was rather Le Labo to give a small taste of Park Hyatt instead. Dining The Club Lounge near reception was open and we had breakfast and happy hour there. The space was not very large so I wonder if it can get full at times but it was not during our brief stay. Breakfast did not stand out one way or another except they had smoked salmon which was a plus. For happy hour I am normally not a big fan of lounges in North America but at least once again it was not an overly crowded zoo therefore it could make for a decent place to relax and have a drink, which included canned mixed drinks but strangely the wines were in cans too. There was a small salad station and bite size appetizer warm dishes which I found to be above average for a lounge in this part of the world, especially at JFK airport. If I did not order room service, my stay might have been close to perfect. Unfortunately more than one hour after ordering we still had not received anything and when I called the restaurant there was no answer so I called reception and they could not get a hold of the restaurant either. Eventually someone called me back to indicate that they had no staff available to bring my food to the room hence the delay, and that they would send a bell boy instead. When the food arrived I was surprised to see that it was in plastic boxes in a bag rather than usual room service tray or cart. The next day there was also an unknown charge from the market (which has take away dishes available) on my invoice but they promptly removed the charge when I informed them that it was not mine. Wifi Wifi worked well with speed of 20 Mbps. Overall If I only had a layover of less than 12 hours I might look at more convenient alternatives closer to JFK airport than HR, but if having close to 24 hours (needing late check-out for an evening flight) and spending lots of time in the hotel, I would definitely pay again the 20-25 USD Uber each way because points redemptions at HR are excellent, I know my odds of suite upgrades will be better than other hotels, and HR has a respectable lounge. So this is a hotel I can recommend when being aware of the location drawback for people not using the hotel as a casino resort but more as an airport hotel.
I enjoyed a 2-night paid stay here last week. Your excellent review influenced my decision. Was proactively upgraded to a suite on the 9th floor facing north. Loved the view so much I cancelled the day's events and napped and watched fluffy clouds all day. Was happy with the motorized shades, very Blade Runner.

The shower water temperature was an issue, but not that long to warm up. The lounge evening offerings were similar, wine in cans was not a thrill for me. Same with the grab n go wine/bubbly offerings.

Would definitely stay here again, but a shuttle to JFK would be nice.

Is this issue addressable? While not a dealbreaker, it is annoying especially during winter.

If they're working, yes. I got a room where they were broken. Luckily I had an early morning flight, but if I'd wanted to sleep a bit later, it might've been annoying. (I do usually travel with an eyemask too, but...)

The hotel staff is aware of it, they sent me a text about it shortly after arrival at JFK.

Had a great one-night, free night stay here before evening flight out of JFK. Was upgraded to basic suite without asking. This was the second time I had a suite, but the first time was on what I think was a mistake rate just after opening. Other times (2 maybe?) no upgrade, so this was a pleasant surprise. One of those non-suites had been an end-room, which was great, since that suite a year ago had been noisy. This suite was an end suite and quiet as could be. While these are not luxury-appointed suites, they do have a second full bathroom, where I was sent for the duration of the stay by P2. I could handle it. The new bathrobes are very high quality, bucking the trend for all changes to be on the cheap side. Also, as in higher-end places, the bathrobes came in separate P1 and P2 sizes, which nicely accorded with P1 and P2's respective sizes as per pre-selected genders. (Translation: His and Hers robes.) The Regency Club was well-stocked and well-staffed. If you have to drink cocktails out of a can, you want them to at least have an agreeable alcohol content. I can vouch for whichever one I was drinking. Two of the three dinner hot fixings were perfectly edible and the salad fixings were fine and seemed sanitary enough. At breakfast, the scrambled eggs were creamy and tasty. Other stuff was good, too. No complaints. Plenty of cookies and sodas during the day. Can't figure out what else they could be giving me at the price I was paying. Oh yeah: Late checkout. I know that Globalists come to expect this, but this is technically a resort, right, so they could say no? They didn't. Say no. The gym was clean and empty.

Whole thing reminded me of what a great deal it can be to be a Hyatt loyalist.

If one must overnight at JFK & decides not to stay at the TWA Hotel, the HR JFK + $40 in Ubers is by far the best choice for a pleasant evening, arriving into your new 4* hotel room 15+ minutes faster than a dump hotel with a free shuttle being half used as a homeless shelter.

Instead of an Uber, you can take MTA New York City transit 'A' train Subway via the JFK AirTrain people mover that stops at all terminals for ~$9. The subway stop is in the back of the JFK Hyatt Regency Hotel's parking lot.

Yeah, either TWA, this or car/uber it into Midtown. I wouldn't under any circumstances stay in any of the JFK "airport" hotels, and probably would never exit Fed Circle Station, ever again.

Both sides of the bed could use the iHome charging base or else bring your super long charging cords. Inexplicable to not put USB3.0 charging and plugs on each bedside.

edit: USB and AC power is on the side of the bedframe and the suite bedroom is very well powered.

Breakfast really is endless carbs but better than HP. According to staff, doesnt really follow any sort of pattern and the only two dishes that stay are the chicken/apple sausages and the Hash Browns.

LOL...Need a new Macbook? And, on the far wall near the food station, they have two screens all playing the same network, Fox News in this case. Now, I have nothing against Fox or any other network, but on both screens?

Anyway, during the evenings, they generally have some bacon wrapped over scallops on a skewer stick that I find pretty good. But, yeah, the rest is underwhelming and basically a menu from the carb-crazed era of yesteryear.
