Has anyone booked a SNA after the re-opening date? I see that the "Junior Suite King" is available for my desired dates but was told that room type isn't eligible for SNA use. The agent then read the names of the two room types that are SNA-eligible but I don't see those room types on the Parker website.

You usually cant apply TSUs until right before a property opens. They seem to not even be taking points reservations right now.

Website reflecting the new branding and name is now up at the following link. The hotel will be known as Thompson Central Park New York. Category 5.

Cat 5 has to be a mistake, right? A holdover from the Parker? I mean, it is bookable right now for 20,000 points, so...

Yeah it's hard to see Cat 5 sticking for long.

I know this is from last year and it may be outdated but this is an absolute scam LOL. If you want to live in that area with the same exposures, it would be cheaper to just buy in Metropolitan tower. That pricing is The Waldorf-Astoria level. No clue if it priced at that level but it’s truly funny to me lol.

Does anyone know if the pool is still going to be accessible as once it reopens?

The pool at the Parker was shut down well before the property itself closed for renovation/rebranding.

A pool is not listed under the amenities for the Thompson Central Park, so it's probably safe to say that they won't be reopening the pool.

It's a shame since there are so few NYC properties with a pool.

I heard the pool was being removed and they were turning that space into residential space or something.

Thanks for the reply, that is a bummer. Staying two nights the first week it’s open, and then staying two nights at the Park Hyatt (for my first time).

Will post here with thoughts on the property.

Aside from the pool no longer being there, the site also says the fitness center isn’t opening until “November”. Which makes me think it will be a few weeks after the hotel opening date.

I asked about the pool during my last stay which was 2 years ago now. When my son was younger we were able to get a summer membership to use the pool one year which is where he learned how to swim. We were hoping that it would be available again one day more so for sentimental reasons. According to the front desk though, condos are also being sold in the building as well and the pool area will be use for the condo owners only.

The lack of pool must be why the category is so much lower than the PH - not!

I'll also be staying here in its opening month after a trip to the PH - I'm excited to try it out.

It's about 3 years old or so. I haven't eaten there yet but the inside is beautiful and the food gets good reviews.
