I use P&C primarily for Cat 2/3/4 stays on Thursday or Sunday nights. I'm at about a 50% availability for P&C when the regular points are available, although I go through the concierge email program.

Interesting situation today as I was checking availability of C+P at the Hyatt in Bangkok. On my phone with the app it showed 7500 points and 100THB but when I check on the desktop site it shows 7500 points and 3291THB.

I am not booking either way as I still do not have enough points for my particular stay but it appears the bugs are still being worked out.

Yeah, I was looking at some in Japan a couple of days ago and they showed as the cash being only 100 yen, but when I clicked through to the final page, they were close to the correct 100 USD.

Where would you see that? I didn't think that there were any Cat 4 hotels in Japan?

You are right, there should not have been any. It was the HR Kyoto and it showed 10000 points, which is right and 100 yen on the front, then I think around 11,300 yen once I clicked through.

I have a dozen or so P+C reservations at HR Kyoto and the cash portion is always ¥14,821 +T&S.

I was trying to say that there were Hyatt hotels at lower than category 5 in Japan. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

If I understand the wiki correctly, it is only a question of points as the cash is paid in the hotel upon checkout, right?

So, can I change the reservation dates or must I cancel, wait for the points to credit, then rebook?

Or, more specifically, my girlfriend and I will be in HKG right after our holiday trip in Thailand. We intend to spend 2 days in HKG starting the 2nd but have just learned that friends will also be in Thailand so we are going to try and push back the HKG part of our trip a few days to cross paths with them. Should we "book" points and cash from the 2nd through the 7th to hold our room, knowing we will only use two nights in that window or book the 2nd-3rd for our current itin and try and push it back if necessary?

I cancelled online a P+C res that I had made a year ago, and the pts were recredited to my account instantly, meaning in the very instant that I clicked the "yes" button on the "are you sure you want to cancel" page, my pts account balance was recredited.

since there are several Japanese props under Cat 5, IMO Jaimito doesn't owe hailstorm squat.
