Arguably nicest Hyatt in the system. Have you seen the pics? Their basic room is 50 sqm.

Half of it is bathroom and storage... the view is great but the basic room didn't really wow me. Great hotel but not without its downsides....

Some jurisdictions require taxes to be included in the advertised price. So might it simply be a matter of properties like Andaz Tokyo complying with local law?

So Cash+points for cat 4 is $100+7500 and you can buy 7800 points for $144 right now under the current promo. That means that if the rate is above $244 per night, then you are better off buying points. I see one hotel in particular where rates are $400 per night and I need two rooms. Guess I have to ensure availability for 2 rooms under C+P but it looks like I can save $300 per night on the two rooms.... or $1200 over my 3 night stay.

The flaw in the thinking might be that they have no P+C availability, for most properties it's more limited than a full points award. Andaz Tokyo even more so.

Sometimes cash really is king :-).

Has anyone seen this before? Driskill has multiple P+C cash levels.

Normal P+C should be 10k + $125. So one rate is -$20 and the other is +$10.

I've been planning a C+P stay at the Grand Hyatt Tampa for a while now. I've been waiting for my points to arrive from Chase (scheduled to arrive tomorrow), but last night I checked and the C+P availability was gone. I didn't realize this was more limited than an award stay. Looking into this further, on a 6 night stay, 4 nights have C+P, 2 nights in the middle don't. Has anyone had luck with asking a hotel or Hyatt to open some availability? I'm avoiding booking an all points stay as I want to ensure that I re-qualify for diamond next year and so that I can use a DSU.

Thanks!

Yes. It is far from a guarantee but I have been able to have the hotel open it up before.

This might be a manual error involving currency conversion guestimates

It's a US property, what sort of currency conversions could be going on? This simply looks like they're trying something new out. Now it shows 10 + $105 and 10 + $125.

I'm seeing this for quite a few dates, they have this for award inventory:

Full points:
Petite Queen - 20k

P+C:
Petite Queen - 10k + $105
Vintage Two Queens - 10k + $125

There's been several reports of random co-pay amounts in the past couple of months ... since the IT "upgrade", perhaps ? If the co-pay is less than what it should be, $105 instead of $125, go ahead and book it (assuming the room works for you), and see if it sticks. If the co-pay is more, book it and then call Hyatt. I've done this 3 times now and the erroneous rate gets corrected. Sometimes the agent has to contact the hotel, but there's never been any question that the change should be made.

Here's another fun one.

If you search Hyatt Place Orlando/Universal for April 6th-May 7th it shows C+P available the whole range of dates. If you look just April 6th-April 7th (which I originally meant to search) it doesn't have C+P available.

Simple, they put a minimum stay requirement on the rate.

Yeah, I realized that later. It's been a while since I've run into one of those, but theme park around spring break.

The rate, in THB, has been updated for the Grand Hyatt Erawan. For a long time (over a year at least) the P+C rate has been sitting at 3291, effectively putting the cash portion ~$90USD, but it has now been shifted up to 3500 more accurately reflecting the current exchange.

Are similar things being seen for other hotels?

Do you just do this by reaching out to the Front Office manager?
