I just called gpcs and was told I wouldn't receive the upgrades or benefits until I completed the challenge. Is this correct?

Does anyone have a confirmation if this is true?

I went through the challenge around mid-2011 and (as of last year) it was not true. I had all the Diamond benefits as well as the certs. I don't know if there was a policy change between then and now though.

I received all the benefits of Diamond as well as the suite upgrades when I started my challenge this year. Started at the end of Jan or beginning of Feb.

Not sure yet if the CSR was correct or not, but I do know that as a Diamond I have had more incorrect answers given to me this year about the program than has been the case for the entire previous decade. Somethings are slipping with Hyatt. Perhaps it is no better or worse, in the aggregate, for non-Diamond Gold Passport members calling in for these kind of things too.

"Call again" sometimes works -- just not sure if now this is one of those things or not.

Sorry if this has already been covered...

I am losing my Diamond status today . I originally obtained it via the FastTrack in 2010.

I am also an InterContinental Royal Ambassador, but I am seriously considering dropping IC later this year due to the mysterious and hefty re-qualification requirements. Therefore, I would like to regain Hyatt Diamond status before the end of 2012. Would it be possible to regain it through a challenge, or am I stuck doing it the old fashioned way (25 stays/50 nights) since I previously completed the FastTrack?

When I logged into my account a couple days later, it did reflect the diamond status. I guess the csr (and the supervisor she checked with) were incorrect. My timing was perfect because 4 suite upgrades posted on February 26th (which I used), and then I got 4 more today!

You're stuck. We only get one match/challenge.

mattress run?

Hello
Wondering if your doing the diamond challenge. Can you do some mattress runs to get your 12 nights in time. Of course those being checking in but not staying at the hotel.
Just wondering if this is allowed.

Also can the stays be any Hyatt brand property?

Thanks

You can check-in but you physically must be there to do the check-in. Technically you can leave it there and just not utilize the hotel room but sometimes housekeeping will notice this and check you out. It might be better to discuss it with the manager beforehand and let them know what you are doing (they are usually understanding about it).

I had read upthread that in addition to having a matchable status you need to have a recent stay history?
I have Hilton Gold, with twenty-something nights last year concentrated in only Jan/Nov, but nothing this year. I might have a long business trip but won't have any recent stay history.
