Just booked an early April in J award for HNL -> NRT for this. Hoping they improve the soft products by then, but since it's the only J award I can find I'm okay with it regardless.

Will be interesting to see how the international experience differs from the west coast flights. Do report back! I need to start looking at Tokyo for June... Wonder when Haneda will get the new seats...

I flew the new product NRT-HNL a few days ago and liked it quite a bit. While the seat components can't be adjusted individually, it wasn't hard to find a comfortable lounging position, and the takeoff/landing position was significantly better than some I've tried. I'm surprised by the comments about tightness in the shoulder area. I'm fairly broad and found the room just fine for both sitting and sleeping (and WAY better than the DL 763 on the trip over).

As for the soft touches, all international flights now see the new blankets, pillows, serviceware, wine list, signature martini's etc... as of December 1st.

They really should have those on the JFK flights!

You did indeed! However I was referring to the international accoutrements, not the seats.

From what I understand... JFK will indeed have at least the new blankets, pillows and mattress topper. I don't think it will have the new international service, as it doesn't have the international service now. Though... I've heard the domestic service is up next for revamping, once the roll out of the international one is well underway and through its glitchy phase.
