Are AY awards cancellable free or how does that work? Maybe time to speculatively book a BKK trip incase they open up later this year 😄

Cancellation fee. BUT free change up til 48H, I have done plenty of speculative bookings and I hope to push them x months forward if it isn't possible to go.

You can cancel and get all the points back. You will not get the taxes back (unless taxes are more than 50 EUR, in which case you will get back anything that's above the 50 EUR cancellation fee).

So the cancellation fee is for Plats too maybe still worth the risk

I was sent an promo that promises 10k extra points on all J bookings ARN-BKK/HKT/MIA, ie on the new direct flights from ARN. (5k bonus on Y booking). Valid for all new bookings until SEP21.

However, promo-link leads to a page that does not indicate any bonus points, neither in text nor in T&C. Go figure.

YMMV, but I wanted to post it anyway.

Yesterday at ARN, I saw AY advertising their MIA flights. I wonder if those flights will actually take place. HKT, probably. BKK, probably not. MIA, unlikely.

Who knows, but at least they are trying to attract demand.

And poor me I went and emptied my account back to k-plussa earlier. But hey, it works both ways so I can move plussa back to ay, albeit with transaction delay

So as I understand it, Canaries sale finished on August 31st, European autumn sales continue until September 3rd, and award flight disconts continue until September 10th...

We just booked HEL-BER for 102€ return in December, actual peanut prices... With cash prices like these, the redemption campaign makes little sense

In 1.5 weeks a HEL - BER return would cost almost 350 e. There an award ticket makes much sense. And these days I won't book anything more than 4 weeks ahead.

You're absolutely correct.

OTOH 102€ is a small capital to risk, especially given the flexibility AY still gives for these tix.

I'm getting back into the normal travelling rhythm, even though Asia is still unfortunately impossible. In Sept/Oct I look at IST, AYT, WAW, BUD, OTP, MUC, KRK, KTW, possibly BEG, AMS and some more obscure Balkan airports as well.
