A flight attendant just said that the Lumo limousine service is supposed to become bookable in advance. Don’t know how accurate this was but she seemed very sure of it anyway. Not sure how well that would work...

On one hand it will make the perk more reliable, I guess. OTOH, isn't much of the premium feel lost when you actually will have to make that reservation?! One more thing to handle for already busy people?

How do you know if you will have a stand arrival or a bus boarding in advance?

I think probably FA only misunderstood something... They already told me about the lumo limo about a half year ago ”Oh yeah its nice but they have to remember to book it themselves! We can’t do it either!”

This.

The whole idea of the limo is another great example where someone got a nice idea but nobody thought about implementation. How much it costs to AY is a service investment amount money away from other means to please customer. I dont see well fit having hundreds thousand euros standing 95% of time parked at apron for little use. Those money could have been better liquid for tangible means erhm for some yes

If I would be in charge of this service I would create a dedicated desk/gate area (1 schengen/1 non-schengen) where Lumo pax need to report x minutes before flight departure time and then they would allocate the cars accordingly. For arrivals it should be easy to see which Lumo-flights are not gate arrivals well ahead of time to send the car there, of course last minute changes can happen. If you even think this further they could send you a txt/push through app to confirm this service or you could request it yourself.. but once again I’m not working for Finnair.

Love that txt/message confirmation idea. It's always weird to be on the lookout for a BMW when you are supposed to board a bus. Would be great to know for sure at least at the time of arrival or boarding if it's either bus or Lumo Limo.

There are the lounges already that could handle this, no need for another desk. I am thinking ZRH F, where the lounge personnel takes care of it all, escorting down to the dedicated security and immigration area and the car is waiting there.

In my experience this too, like all things related to LH and M&M, has been enhanced in the last years. Instead of a personal ride from FCL A to FCL E, there are now shuttles carrying groups of pax at certain intervals.

If I remember correctly, I became Lumo later than you, but got the welcome e-mail, physical letter and the Tumi link already a couple of weeks ago (at the beginning of the month). The Tumi was delivered quickly. Maybe the procedures work more efficiently outside of Finland for once?
