Buy it, then change flights. Make call to CS and insist on having your XBGG ancillary service transferred to your new flight.

Oh, they joys of a scalable distribution model.....

I now got a slew of "Flight update" e-mails, telling me I may need to check entry requirements for upcoming trips. It is just that they all refer to cancelled flights... So someone took a data dump weeks ago and fed it a to a e-mail system sending pre-departure mail regardless if customers are departing or not. Good stuff..

Points posting again very slow. I wonder if last week‘s „maintenance“ has anything to do with it.

Flying TLL-HEL-LHR in a few days and back the next day with an overnight in HEL.
Upgraded both ways with vouchers, HEL-LHR had instant availability but LHR-HEL went to waitlist which clerared yesterday.
What is strange, and has never happened to me before is that my seats on all 4 flights keep changing without me doing anything, on the TLL flights it´s been jumping around rows 14-16 aisle and window and on the LHR flights between rows 2-4 aisle and window... the waitlisted LHR-HEL was eco comfort during the waitlist and was then jumping between rows 22-24 aisle and window.
Is this a some kind of bug or what is going on? never had this before what I can remember...

I was recently booted off my seat and someone else was seated there. Ended up relocating myself to a completely free row, but don't appreciate the unreliability. There are ULCCs for seat lotteries.

Nevertheless, when I was sitting in my own row and enjoying window views, I finally realized what the F on the wings facing the cabin might really mean. By the way, no more free internet upon watching an ad - it seems like somebody has read VPN discussions here...but this has been a mutual F-off.

I suspect the loyalty P hasnt posted anything nor positive here which is a good enough reason to believe he thinks we are just abusers here and ordered someone to read everything here and report anything that sounds too good for us, instead of focusing on improvements, let alone engaging in suhh discussions.

We should have a private locked thread for invite-only members for special topics :)

I think we have seen a lot of instances where Finnair copied things from SAS. Well, I wonder what will happen after this radical shift
https://careers.sasgroup.net/job/Sol...587/784518401/

(Reading the description SK is moving It in-house, looking to hire 100 new IT staff. Interesting move compared to the outsourcing AY is doing)

VPN wasn't needed to achieve unlimited free internet. Just the default apple MAC address spoofing was enough - just forget the network and receive new ad internet. Can be many other reasons behind this. Maybe with the small internet sample there wasn't really enough added revenue from those who tried it for free to justify the added bandwitdth consumption.

ATR72 has two configurations with different number or rows. I have had selected seats moved previously when I had chosen seats in last two rows. When aircraft has been changed, the seats had too.

yes, I'm aware of the two diffrent ATR configs, being TLL based I'm sure I have been on every d*mn ATR AY has at least 10 times each :)
And yes if config changes you might get bumped a row back or vice versa, I'm used to this. But this time around the moves have also been across the aisle and window/aisle which I never saw before. Also the fact that both the 350 flights to and from LHR has been doing the same is something I find very strange.

No idea if it actually can happen, but it sounds like they configured their "optimal seating" software to override tier members seat choice.
because what you describe sounds exactly what optimal seating does in the background. It keeps a virtual seat map for every booked passenger, and it updates and "optimise" it with every new event, like with every ticket sold and every advance seat request.

That does make sense, the last time my seat changed for LHR-HEL from 4A to 4H, I went to mmb to change it back to a window seat and noticed that all the middle seats were taken and all but one window seat was open to pick from. This was not the case a few days earlier when my upgrade cleared, at that point seats were taken evenly across the cabin.

does AY charge for seat booking in J from anyone or is it free to choose for everyone? I'm not very up to date on these things since plat gets all that for free regardless of ticket type.
if they do charge for seat choice in J, kicking people out of desireble window seats might be something they would do.... ? D*mn rude, but I wouldn't be surprised.

intuition Apr 18, 2022 10:31 am

They charge for seat selection in J, unless you have a certain ticket type or hold the right tier.

florens Apr 20, 2022 4:13 am

AY website thinks I got the points while I didn't (well, I got them for 3 out of 4 flights on the booking).:(
