Emirates Seating Guide
A380
First:
777
First:
A380
First:
- Solo travelers: some say row 4 is loud from the galley behind, while row 1 may be a bit more cramped than other rows. Most suggest rows 2 or 3, seats A or K.
- Couple: E/F seats in rows 1-3 are all fairly similar.
- General: the mini cabin at the back has a more secluded feel, though some comment that there is noise from the bar beyond row 23.
- Solo travelers: most prefer seats A and K (solo seats on sides with windows).
- Couple: aim for seats E/F to be closer together.
- General comments: upgrade if at all possible!

777
First:
- Solo travelers: Row 1, especially 1a and 1k, is the worst because of galley and lavatory right in front. Noisy and high traffic. Not much difference between row 1 and 2 in terms of space on the 77w for k or a seats.
- Couple: there is not really any difference between row 1 and 2 for e and f seats except 1 is near the galley and 2 is near row 6 in j where there may be children
- General: There is limited direct aisle access as the configuration is 2-3-2. The rear J cabin will have Y pax move through on boarding.
- Solo travelers:
- Couple: 7 j and k are great if you don't mind the missing window. It's in the private mini cabin - a great choice unless you like window gazing. You also don't get y traffic passing through this cabin as you turn left on entry!
- General comments: Y on the 777 is for slim people.

If the wind is Northerly and you land in the other direction, there is no 'iconic view' so it's not really important in that case. Prevailing wind is South but in winter probably 50/50.

I have never been able to book 6K (bassinet seat) and have always opted for 7K. It indeed has a missing window so if you want to see the rather iconic view when landing at CPT, you may have to choose a K seat in the 'main' J cabin.

I have found that even the first row is fine. The way the suites are set up door closed there is no difference at least to me. On the 77W I would sit further forward as the bulkhead in Biz is also a bassinet row !! Once had a family with baby there! Also note that the last row in FC is also a baby row !!

Although a very small sample of 1 flight in F, I found 1A fine. Didn't hear any noise from the galley or any increased foot traffic from the crew or other pax going to the toilet. The J bulkhead bassinet seat would have me steering clear of row 2 in case of possible noise (hence I've chosen 1A for my next two flights).

First time on Emirates, traveling J from DXB to JFK (A380), got a side aisle seat. Will need to work in flight.
The J class seat has a small table space- for window side aisle seats, it is on your left and for window seats, it is on your right.
1. Is that little table space enough to keep a 14" laptop & work? Or food table tray is the better option?
2. Being right handed, should I then think about an aisle seat from the middle section, especially one with the table space to my right?
Thx

Thanks. I figured it would be better for my posture to use the tray table.
BTW, any reviews on seat 23A on the 380 Business Class? It cleared up and I booked it. Anybody know what is in the area separating the large cabin (rows 6-21) and the mini cabin (rows 22-26). The bar is after row 26.

EK 779 - CPT to DXB - "angled lie flat" or "sleeperette"
Can someone confirm if EK 779 features the "angled lie flat" Business class or the very old "sleeperette" seats.
The Emirates website has contradictory info ... "on your flight" shows 'lie flat' whereas the aircraft chart shows sleeperette for the 2 class 777-300ER
