Emirates Seating Guide
A380
First:
777
First:
A380
First:
- Solo travelers: some say row 4 is loud from the galley behind, while row 1 may be a bit more cramped than other rows. Most suggest rows 2 or 3, seats A or K.
- Couple: E/F seats in rows 1-3 are all fairly similar.
- General: the mini cabin at the back has a more secluded feel, though some comment that there is noise from the bar beyond row 23.
- Solo travelers: most prefer seats A and K (solo seats on sides with windows).
- Couple: aim for seats E/F to be closer together.
- General comments: upgrade if at all possible!

777
First:
- Solo travelers: Row 1, especially 1a and 1k, is the worst because of galley and lavatory right in front. Noisy and high traffic. Not much difference between row 1 and 2 in terms of space on the 77w for k or a seats.
- Couple: there is not really any difference between row 1 and 2 for e and f seats except 1 is near the galley and 2 is near row 6 in j where there may be children
- General: There is limited direct aisle access as the configuration is 2-3-2. The rear J cabin will have Y pax move through on boarding.
- Solo travelers:
- Couple: 7 j and k are great if you don't mind the missing window. It's in the private mini cabin - a great choice unless you like window gazing. You also don't get y traffic passing through this cabin as you turn left on entry!
- General comments: Y on the 777 is for slim people.

I am quite sure there are many more people that fly more than my average 125K a year and I understand not every flight is perfect nor do I treat my FF miles as entitlement far from it. My comment was only in response to another post asking best seats and not sure if everyone reads the seating charts and EK does a good job of reflecting where the seats are that accept baby seats. And I now know.
For the record NOT ALL my flights are AS miles. just saying and I never said that flight was on AS miles, did I !

Anyway I'm sure row 2 has a bassinet. Will check on wed.
Oh and if you don't want to risk kids either fly private or pay for the whole cabin.

And for the record 50% was paid !
Of note I have been a very vocal supporter of EK et al in the issue of "open skies" they provide an excellent product at a reasonable price point, with or without kids ! While I am a US citizen it's hard for me to support my carriers when they simply provide a less than acceptable product, and sadly in this country it's all about profit, not that I run my company as a non profit I do provide a service to my customers whom have been with me for years.
So, let's move on from the babies agreed ?

Booked on this flight in March and just realized upon looking on the EK site to select seats that the F configuration is 2-2-2. Didn't realize that was possible on EK.
I assume that isn't a placeholder error and if I want suites on the flight I'll have to change to a different DXB - SIN flight?
I presume there is also a huge difference in quality between the 777 F suites and the 777 F sleeperettes or whatever they are called?

Assuming we are still exhausted at that point (which is a fair assumption) I guess it would be fine as long as it's comfortable enough for the sleep since it is a redeye though disappointing not to get 777 suites.
I also assume no one here would recommend changing to a 7.5 hour layover just to get on the A380 that leaves at 315am.

Hmm okay. How is it for sleep? We'll be doing IAH - DXB - SIN with a 2 hour layover.

The 2-2-2 F seats are like glorified 777 J seats, just bigger and flatter. Adequate for sleeping on. I think it depends on your schedule and how much you value being at the destination on your original schedule over the hard product.

I think you would find there would be quite a lot of people who would recommend that change, because they like long layovers to spend in the DXB F lounges

My hope is that since it's a redeye and we'll be coming off the IAHDXB flight we'll be exhausted in which case as long as the hard product is decent we should be fine.
Plus 352 does at least serve caviar and 354 doesn't so that's the silver lining.
Unfortunately the ex-US flights just don't time well for any other SIN flight without a significantly longer layover.
Maybe it'll change but if not all good. Any seat recommendations? Based on pictures looks like light from the forward galley would be a big problem on a redeye so row 2 center is probably the best to maintain aisle access and reduce light?

Haha fair about the layover but not sure I can convince the GF to do a 7.5 hour layover.

Hi,
We have booked to fly LGW to DXB with Emirates, this will be the first time we have flown economy on the 380 and looking at the seat map from my booking it is showing row 66 J & K as just 2 seats, but seatguru, expert flyer etc. are showing 3, has anyone had experience of these seats and can you advise as it is just the 2 of us it would be nice not to have to be first in line at check in for exit row seats. Many thanks

Seat choice in first class A380 for couple?
I got hit by luck today, and managed to grab two seats LAX-DUBAI-SINGAPORE, with a two day layover in Dubai, both legs A380 first class mileage awards. Still jumping around with joy.
Which seats would be best for couple traveling together? The suites seem very private and closed off almost, does it matter which ones I pick so we can communicate during the flight? Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

We took the middle seats in the second row for JFK-DXB. No problem communicating in the middle seats. Most of the flights don't go out full in F so you can move to a window seat when there's something to see. The best "communicating" for a couple is done in the shower

Thanks!
