Emirates Seating Guide
A380
First:
777
First:
A380
First:
- Solo travelers: some say row 4 is loud from the galley behind, while row 1 may be a bit more cramped than other rows. Most suggest rows 2 or 3, seats A or K.
- Couple: E/F seats in rows 1-3 are all fairly similar.
- General: the mini cabin at the back has a more secluded feel, though some comment that there is noise from the bar beyond row 23.
- Solo travelers: most prefer seats A and K (solo seats on sides with windows).
- Couple: aim for seats E/F to be closer together.
- General comments: upgrade if at all possible!

777
First:
- Solo travelers: Row 1, especially 1a and 1k, is the worst because of galley and lavatory right in front. Noisy and high traffic. Not much difference between row 1 and 2 in terms of space on the 77w for k or a seats.
- Couple: there is not really any difference between row 1 and 2 for e and f seats except 1 is near the galley and 2 is near row 6 in j where there may be children
- General: There is limited direct aisle access as the configuration is 2-3-2. The rear J cabin will have Y pax move through on boarding.
- Solo travelers:
- Couple: 7 j and k are great if you don't mind the missing window. It's in the private mini cabin - a great choice unless you like window gazing. You also don't get y traffic passing through this cabin as you turn left on entry!
- General comments: Y on the 777 is for slim people.

This isn't the right thread but something that occurred to me is that we don't know the overall cabin design EK will be adopting. This wasn't shown at the launch AFAIK. I recently travelled on a two-class 777 in J and they didn't have the center hatracks and a small area for snacks etc which I believe is common on some of the 777s. This opens up the cabin a lot more and I think makes J feel more spacious even with the same seats. Let's hope they have some innovation in that area at least...

A380-800 Bulkhead Seats
Hi All, I have currently selected 45E for the second leg of my journey from DXB to BKK. As this flight is an early morning flight at 3.00am i was thinking to take advantage of extra legroom and a couple hours sleep its an advantage.
I know its not the ideal position in terms of direct aisle access
My friends have selected 43 KJH and 44H i have the option to select
42 J
46 G
48 H
Should i stick with the bulkhead or what should i switch too?

Can anyone tell me if I made good seat choices in F for these EK segments I'll be flying in March?
- JFK-DXB on the a380-800: seat 2k
- DXB-CAI on the 777-300: seat 2A
I booked way early, so I can easily make changes, as the seat maps are still wide open.
I'd like the most private seat with 3 windows.

A door? The seats in F on the DXB-CAI route have doors? I hope you're right, because I had assumed this route utilized the old F product (which don't have doors).

I just double-checked, and unfortunately, this is what I'm going to get on the DXB-CAI route (which makes sense, because Cairo isn't exactly a premium market). The seats are called "Sky Cruisers". They used to be the standard F product on Emirates, even though they resemble (old) Business Class:

I'm not surprised that I'm getting an inferior product on the second segment of my trip. That's pretty typical when you book with miles (Alaska). It would have been highly unusual to get both flight segments in a flagship cabin.
