Emirates Seating Guide

A380

First:
  1. Solo travelers: some say row 4 is loud from the galley behind, while row 1 may be a bit more cramped than other rows. Most suggest rows 2 or 3, seats A or K.
  2. Couple: E/F seats in rows 1-3 are all fairly similar.
Business:
  1. General: the mini cabin at the back has a more secluded feel, though some comment that there is noise from the bar beyond row 23.
  2. Solo travelers: most prefer seats A and K (solo seats on sides with windows).
  3. Couple: aim for seats E/F to be closer together.
Economy:
  1. General comments: upgrade if at all possible!

777

First:
  1. Solo travelers: Row 1, especially 1a and 1k, is the worst because of galley and lavatory right in front. Noisy and high traffic. Not much difference between row 1 and 2 in terms of space on the 77w for k or a seats.
  2. Couple: there is not really any difference between row 1 and 2 for e and f seats except 1 is near the galley and 2 is near row 6 in j where there may be children
Business:
  1. General: There is limited direct aisle access as the configuration is 2-3-2. The rear J cabin will have Y pax move through on boarding.
  2. Solo travelers:
  3. Couple: 7 j and k are great if you don't mind the missing window. It's in the private mini cabin - a great choice unless you like window gazing. You also don't get y traffic passing through this cabin as you turn left on entry!
Economy:
  1. General comments: Y on the 777 is for slim people.

When I first booked that seat (7K), I worried a bit about it but in reality I found it fine!
Otherwise row 7 is probably the best as it is a 'very mini' cabin, only 2 rows (6 and 7). Much more quiet than the 'big' J cabin further back.^
Plus they let the front cabin disembark first as F is there as well (those poor souls have to disembark behind sone J passengers)

All very much first world problems...
Thank you both for your advice! ^

Is there a reason why row 7 would be recommended over row 6? Being at the bulkhead is the IFE screen at row 6 seats mounted on the bulkhead wall or stored in the armrest?

Earlier the TVs were mounted in the bulkhead and were slightly misaligned. I believe for most a/c now, the TVs are typically located in an 'extension' added to the seat. This constrains entry and egress to 6A/K.

Row 6 is a bassinet row, so always the chance of getting moved or having a small child next to you.

That would be the section of the seat at the lower-right of your picture, right? I guess this means no gate-to-gate entertainment for row 6.

Hi All

Just got my flights for my next trip and looking at seating choice.

GLA-DXB: 77W Three Class. Have chosen 10K. Is this regarded as a decent seat?
DXB-PEK: A380 Three Class. Have chosen 16K. Is this regarded as a decent seat?

Thanks again for your insights.

On GLA row 9 would be better in case of kids in the basinet in y. I like row 7 but a lot don't due to the missing window.

16k on the 380 is good half way or so down nearer the toilets at the back. 23k /a is a better choice if you can get because it is quite private. Food takes longer to arrive thing as they start at row 6 and move backwards.

Thanks m3red

Row 10 was the furthest forward window seat available to select on the GLA flight otherwise I would have went for row 7. Quite liked that row on two flights so far.

How is the traffic noise with row 23 being near the back and not too far from the bar?

Thanks

It's good, as I said if its an a or k on row 23 it's really private. Only downer is the time it takes for service but that's the same in all j seats on the 380. I just hung out at the bar until they start serving. If I was travelling in j again and not in a rush to get off I'd pick 23 again.

You've convinced me. 23K it is and I may try out the bar this time .

I apologize if this has been asked and answered but I did a search and failed to find a good answer. My wife and I are going on a 30th anniversary trip. SFO-Dubai and then Dubai-Rome (14 hour layover). I have 2 questions: We both want window seats. We can get 1K/ 2K or 2/3K----what do you recommend?

Also, is the in airport hotel a good idea for the layover--and does it allow us to stay in the terminal and avoid dealing w/customs and immigration on the way out of Dubai. Many thanks for your time and your thoughts!!

2 and 3, row one is narrower and smaller due to the curve of the plane.
