Emirates Seating Guide
A380
First:

First:
A380
First:
- Solo travelers: some say row 4 is loud from the galley behind, while row 1 may be a bit more cramped than other rows. Most suggest rows 2 or 3, seats A or K.
- Couple: E/F seats in rows 1-3 are all fairly similar.
- General: the mini cabin at the back has a more secluded feel, though some comment that there is noise from the bar beyond row 23.
- Solo travelers: most prefer seats A and K (solo seats on sides with windows).
- Couple: aim for seats E/F to be closer together.
- General comments: upgrade if at all possible!

777
First:
- Solo travelers: Row 1, especially 1a and 1k, is the worst because of galley and lavatory right in front. Noisy and high traffic. Not much difference between row 1 and 2 in terms of space on the 77w for k or a seats.
- Couple: there is not really any difference between row 1 and 2 for e and f seats except 1 is near the galley and 2 is near row 6 in j where there may be children
- General: There is limited direct aisle access as the configuration is 2-3-2. The rear J cabin will have Y pax move through on boarding.
- Solo travelers:
- Couple: 7 j and k are great if you don't mind the missing window. It's in the private mini cabin - a great choice unless you like window gazing. You also don't get y traffic passing through this cabin as you turn left on entry!
- General comments: Y on the 777 is for slim people.

Emirates Economy
Hi, Can someone advise me if it is better to request seats towards the front of economy (where most of the babies/children usually get defaulted to) and risk a noisy flight or should i request seats further back behind the wing, just behind the exit row.
Flying on Boeing 777-300ER (3-class) and Airbus 330-200 (3-class) at the end of May 07.
Tried to get this info from emirates staff to no avail.
Thanks for your advice !!!!!!

Could someone please tell me which rows on the A340-500 dont have a window in Y ? Seatexpert and Seatguru both show totally different seat plans - somehow I dont trust them.

My husband and I are traveling from Mumbai, India to New York JFK this August and would like to know the following:
We've been told that DXB-JFK-DXB is on the 777-300ER with the new lie-flat seats in business class and were wondering if we've been allotted good seats by the travel agent or whether we should request other seats. Please advise!

Depends what you're after really.
If it's a group of four and you all want to be seated together you might be pleased.
Personally I wouldn't choose them though.
See this website for suggestions:

Hi all,
I found this thread really helpful towards some of my questions regarding the seating in my next flight. However I'm still not sure what the best option for me would be.
This year I will be flying Economy class in an A330-200 (3 class) and A340-500 for respectively 8 and 15 hours. My main wish is having a good view outside, because I will probably be looking outside for the most part. Since there are some variations in seat & window combination and the wing usually blocks a large part of the view, I would like to choose carefully before checking in.
To give you an idea: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hikaris...l-airbus_a340/. In this picture you can see 3 window seats. The seat on the left and right, seem perfect to me, however the seat in the middle has windows at a very uncomfortable location. SeatExpert (given earlier in this thread) does give me the positions of windows next to the seats, but I still am not able to see how comfortable these positions would be for my neck.
My guess would be:
- 29A/K, 31A/K, 33A/K in A330-200 (3 class)
- 26A/K, 29A/K, 33A/K in A340-500
The rest has is either the wing blocking the view or a 'beware'-sign.
Are there people who can confirm this? And which seats in those airplanes have the window position like the seats in the picture?

I flew EK A340-500 (y-class) four times this year, and by coincidence it allways was A6-ERD:
31k was very comfortable and neck-friendly,
at 30k a glimpse out of the window took some neck-unfriendly effort,
and there is no window at all at 29a/k (which responds to Shilla's post from May 15 aswell).
Hoping this information is helpfull,
Peter

Seatguru and seatexpert dont show this so...
Just booked DXB-KUL-DXB 777-300er each way and I have assigned 7A both ways - I cant find any seat map that his reflects especially as this is in Y. Any ideas as I want to ensure the bulkhead for the two overnight flights.

I read in this topic that a travel agent said that seats can not be reserved in y class. If you book your tickets through TA then phone emirates office in your country(UK-08448002777) give them your booking reference no. and request for seat allocation. I have done this. I even changed my seats twice without any problem.
For your country' office try this link

I have asked this in a separate thread but I think this place is more appropriate to ask. I have been given row 18 seats ABC on 777-300ER. Seatguru's site shows the correct seating plan for this aircraft but also says there is a window missing on this seat, is it true? and does it mean there is no window or window in awkward position.
Thanks

First time with Emirates am really confused!!!!
HI there!
we have just booked a series of flights next may here they are!
25/5/08 EK002 LHR to DXB
26/5/08 EK322 DXB to ICN
06/6/08 EK317 KIX to DXB
14/6/08 EK003 DXB to LHR
this is our first time using Emirates, my partner is registered deaf and wears digital hearing aids, we ideally need good business seats on the right hand side of the plane *window and aisle* (he has balance problems and being seated this side minimises air sickness etc) and away from bassinets! ( having a screaming kid in you ear is not great but amplified through a hearing aid I can only assume is tortuous!), we always book a window and aisle seat, but after reading some reports on here we are completely lost on what planes (77w accoring to website and A340 ) have what seats etc etc!!!
If anyone could it would be much appreciated! As I said we have never flown Emirates before, flown prev in Business in THAI,MALAYSIA, EVA, BA etc and have never been as confused as we are now!!!!!
