Anyone would think there's a global pandemic playing havoc with the airline industry!

If they changed you itinerary that much, are you not entitled to cancel and refund without a penalty?

Most likely but who else are we going to fly? EK has the most generous covid timeframes of the eastern carriers.

Cant go west since none of the airports are open to US citizens. Got me over a barrel. Darn it.

But there wont be a next time.

Anyone would think that it's not nice to screw over the customers you ARE getting.

Someday this pandemic will be gone and memories can be long about doing customers wrong, taking away food, drink, and not lowering the price one penny from pre-pandemic days while using covid to justify it.

QR is definitely still flying from JFK-MLE with similar if not slightly better connection times it looks like. Not sure what dates you're flying but might want to consider. I mean you would get q-suites and/or reverse herringbone seats all the way, and their soft product has not been reduced much.

So post pandemic, if EK is $900 for a JFKMLE flight while QR charges $1100, you'll pay the extra $200? Don't be pretentious. All those bad memories suddenly go out of the window.

Anyone else been to the J lounge at DXB recently?

It's quite pathetic, the food options are abysmal, there's basically no difference in the veg and non-veg options and the only open bathroom was halfway across the lounge, the ones nearest to the entrance are all closed.

Pathetic - hasn't changed since I was last there four weeks ago it seems.

Can anyone find the page that has the COVID "policy" for tickets? The page here https://www.emirates.com/english/help/keep-your-ticket/ only mentions the options, but doesn't go into detail what it (currently) means to be affected by COVID.

Ams is back to 77w, who saw that coming?

Wouldn't surprise me with the double daily cdg will be combined into a single morning departure, either.

Was AMS on A380 post Corona? I’m going to take this flight in two weeks time BTW. I’m more annoyed EK chose the retain the late flight instead of the morning one.

it was since aug 1. Have been on the morning flight many times and loved it too but doesn't connect to anything with the current schedule. The evening flight was the best to maximise time, this was supposed to relaunch on 1 sep but got cancelled.

Interesting update from Tim Clark on resumption of business.

Pretty sure I know the answer to this already - but checking just in case.
The wife and little man arrive back into DXB this evening - is the arrivals terminal open to greet them / pick them up (i.e. next to Costa) or do they need to be met outside?

open to all. You'll exit now next to the chauffeur drive area, no longer next to Costa.
