Also, massive amounts of availability on awards and miles upgrades. As wide as the sea! I just need to get my hands on 60k miles to push us all into F but waiting to see if I’ll get a 30% skywards deal next week.

No surprise on the availability! How are you getting F for 60k for 2 pax on MAN-SYD routing?

Great news!

Note the pic of waited service at table in lounge. the great buffets a thing of the past, hopefully one day we'll see the return of them.

According to Gulf News https://gulfnews.com/uae/transport/e...y-1-1.72328900
". Food in the lounge are now offered in hygienically sealed meal boxes, including vegetarian options, instead of a buffet offering. Complimentary beverages, including spirits, will be offered in single serve bottles. Wine and champagne, served from shared bottles, will be temporarily unavailable."

"Emirates will open one lounge in Terminal 3 Concourse B, Dubai International Airport (DXB) to serve First Class, Business Class and eligible Emirates Skywards members from 1000hrs on 1 July. Lounge guests will enter through biometric gates using facial recognition to reduce contact." I guess they are using passport data otherwise how do they have your image?

I like the use of the word" temporary".

Hopefully it's exactly that. Those buffets, F&B in general were excellent. Kept me fed for 50+ days a year.

I will miss those days of passing around that Moet between friends in the lounge, slugging it straight from the bottle....

Seriously, I think they could take care of the issue by simply putting wine and champagne behind the counter with no self-serve opportunity.

Alternatively, a sealed 75 cl wine bottle can be consumed relatively easily over lunch, with a commitment not to waste any from my part.

I do hope that they’ll still keep a varied selection of (now served) quality food. The DXB lounge had some of the best selection of food imo.

I certainly won't miss the buffets in Dubai. First class lounge dining is much more civilised with waiter service.

I've seen people pick up sandwiches in the business class lounge, look inside them and put them back. Plus everyone jostling around the food and breathing all over the food, plates and cutlery. No thanks.

yeah F is the way to go. J lounges are zoos - they need to restrict access to paid J / gold / platinum members

The morning rush is nuts in the J lounges. I can’t be bothered.

I know you enjoy sharing nuts but it’s not for me.

doubt they ever will but I think they should consider SQ's setup at changi: one lounge for golds one for paid J; same for plat/F

It helps to build the immune system and if we all did it a bit more we wouldn't be in this Covid mess. What's not to like? ;)
