Does anyone know if EK actually did start their services to Addis Ababa and Entebbe on Saturday. Also Lagos on 15 July?

It's hard to tell by interrogating dates on EF. There certainly don't seem to be any passengers to ADD and EBB in the immediate future.

Flightradar24 shows EK723 was flown on Saturday by B77W, A6-EPS from DXB-ADD, and what looks like a 3x weekly service is scheduled again for today. Don't know if it carried passengers or not.

It's operated today as well, and almost full - many op-ups from Y to J; so definitely taking pax!

A fifth A380 - Guangzhou – to be added from August 8.

It seems like A380's are slowly coming back online now - is this actually due to customer demand?

If you look at murtaza12’s excellent latest post on the Emirates Fleet Guide thread, you will notice that all but 5 of EK’s 77W frames are being used, either for cargo only or for mixed cargo/ passenger use.
As we know, the A380 is not suitable for cargo only, so those considerations put together would explain the increased use of A380 frames.
What I don’t know is how serious the effect is of the current COVID test requirements for transfer passengers. Without that I would have thought that passenger volumes might also contribute to the re-emergence of the A380’s, but at this stage I’m not that sure.

Perhaps they use the sheer size of A380 to their advantage for social distancing ?

Another good video of the Dubai airport experience:

on lhr - reasonable demand. On the other two A380 routes; lets say the demand doesn't even fill a typical A318!

Thanks to both of you. I have a Flightradar24 subscription but didn't even think to look there. Such is the state of my mind with this bloody awful virus changing everything!

Any particular reason as to why post-resumption, IAD (EK 231) is now a 8:30 AM departure from DXB, whereas pre-COVID it had always been a 2:20 AM departure ?

More (better) connections with the morning bank

Pardon my rant.

Daughter and I booked EK A380 JFK to DXB, then flight on to Maldives for Sept, business class. Were thrilled at the 1-2-1 so we could distance.

We just got dumped onto the 777-300ER with their crappy 2-3-2. Worse, they never bothered to TELL us and by accident, I discovered our business seats were now listed in ECONOMY.

THEN they changed the flights back TWICE, moving us from an 8 hour layover to almost 24.

THIS is how you treat passengers willing to venture out and pay for what is now a seriously overpriced crappy, cramped business seat on the 777.

I suspect this will be my LAST use of EK

End rant

If they changed you itinerary that much, are you not entitled to cancel and refund without a penalty?
