thank, yes, spoke to the airline again and they say it was updated. but they also say that the other clarification is that this applies to in-bound travel into South Africa. South Africans (and presumably residents) can travel to the high risk countries and return, with tests done and all that.

Very confusing.

And 'all that' presumably means 14 (or is it 10) days quarantine (which can be at home if you get 'permission'). Am I right on both these counts?

Ten days. Unclear from the wording I’ve seen whether quarantine applies to returning nationals and residents. It’s a communications mess. I probably won’t risk it if I have to return to a hotel for ten days.

Returning residents prior to today had to quarantine in hotels at their own cost.

Anyone know why tomorrow's Durban flight is showing as cancelled, was supposed to be their first resumption of flights to Durban?

iFlyMoreThanYou Oct 3, 2020 2:00 am

Flight had 128 pax booked so must be a government restriction

The cancellation is due to Cogta regulations announced this week that treat airline crew the same as passengers.

The topmost hyperlink to Routes Online takes us to an older set of changes dated 19th August, not the ones I think they're supposed to. Can you fix?

EWR and SEA Suspended til at least MAR 2021

According to the good folks at Airliners.net, a skim of the OAG indicates that MXP-JFK, ATH-EWR, and DXB-SEA will be suspended until at least March 2021. I would expect more long-haul cancellations to the USA as the virus numbers accelerate, but that's just my speculation.

From Airliners.Net (see linked thread for explanation of the frequency numbers, essentially its "going to 0" on the listed months.
I believe SEA/EWR are now offically suspended
**EK ATH-EWR DEC 0.5>0[1.0] JAN 0.6>0[1.0] FEB 0.6>0[1.1]
**EK DXB-SEA DEC 0.5>0[1.0] JAN 0.4>0[1.0] FEB 0.4>0[1.1] MAR 0.5>0.1[0.9]
**EK JFK-MXP DEC 0.5>0[1.0] JAN 0.6>0[1.0] FEB 0.6>0

Seems EK has restored flights to Jeddah but as EK2803 which is a odd number considering it used to be EK801. Wonder if its a goverment restricted flight, noted Saudi airlines resume in November so may change flight numbers again?

EK2803 is a cargo flight between Dubai and Jeddah hence the new flight number.

false - 4 digit flights that start with a 2 are additional flights.

Flight has been available for sale, and doesnt seem to be capacity restricted. Has been going 90% full.

If I have EWR-ATH-DXB booked for march, would EK automatically re-book me out of DXB or not necessarily. This is an award booking through Alaska.

For those not minding connecting, with final destination ABC, be on the look out for DXB XXX ABC fares. These won't price on Emirates website but travel agents should be able to find some interesting ;) fares

From any particular country or systemwide? I've noticed recently that travel agents have more better EK deals than before, although after eg applying discount codes directly, I'm not so sure there's so much of a saving.
