EK Resumption of Operations

Not sure if this really needs a new thread, but I'll create a Wiki.

Routes Online has just published a new EK schedule inventory.

https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...lN0-VyGGidSM9w

It looks like a partial resumption from 01/05/2020, with more routes coming online from 01/06/2020.

See the Wiki for full details.

This is not their schedule, these are just the flights they have loaded inventory for. It gives insight in what routes may start at what dates, but this isn't their schedule.

Flights will resume before May 1.

The flights that will be announced in a day or two will only be those to get people home yet (with pending approval other direction, that is, into DXB as well), so not for ordinary pax like you and me. Also, if you've noticed that flights are POS-restricted.

Yes, and so is Durban. I think it’s just an error. JNB was also missing on the same list that was published earlier.

Do we know which destinations will resume from tomorrow?

Longton Apr 11, 2020 12:10 pm

Lots of tourists, particularly from the UK, in Western Cape hoping to leave. Perhaps not many people to be repatriated from Johannesburg.

Lockdown is due to end in South Africa on 30 April.

Flights will connect with Dubai to Heathrow and Birmingham flights from 1st May. No other UK destinations planned till June.

Overview of the latest changes in the next months. Time will tell if this plan will be feasable, if some destinations/frequencies might be cut for a longer time or even won't be resumed
