Costa or Starbucks?

is it a Starbucks now? I've walked past there so many times but now I start doubting myself. There was (is?) A costa with seating area as you turn left after customs, im sure must of you here turn right for the chaffeur desk. Peasants like myself now turn right too, but exit to the left of the chaffeur drive area entrance.

Yes was Costa, but a few months ago became Starbucks.

it was since aug 1. Have been on the morning flight many times and loved it too but doesn't connect to anything with the current schedule. The evening flight was the best to maximise time, this was supposed to relaunch on 1 sep but got cancelled.

Thanks. I’ve booked AMS-DXB for this Monday on the triple 7. My first EK flight in nearly 5 months! From what I can see on seat selection, the load factor can’t be more than 10% or so.

Daughter and I booked EK A380 JFK to DXB, then flight on to Maldives for Sept, business class. Were thrilled at the 1-2-1 so we could distance.

We just got dumped onto the 777-300ER with their crappy 2-3-2. Worse, they never bothered to TELL us and by accident, I discovered our business seats were now listed in ECONOMY.

THEN they changed the flights back TWICE, moving us from an 8 hour layover to almost 24.

THIS is how you treat passengers willing to venture out and pay for what is now a seriously overpriced crappy, cramped business seat on the 777.

I suspect this will be my LAST use of EK

End rant

Take QR now. Q suites and A350.

Ek won’t downgrade you if you paid for J, they’ll put you in J on the next available flights.

Worth transferring Amex points to EK now? I have a reservation in Maldives in late October and there are miles tickets available in business class that I'd like to take advantage of. However, I'm cautious because I'm not sure EK won't change the flights from BOS to DXB then MLE. Also, not sure what the COVID situation would be like in 2 months. What do people think please? Don't want to get my AMEX points stuck in EK if this trip gets cancelled because of COVID (since I never fly EK) but would like to take advantage of the current availability of miles business class tickets.

Thanks

Not sure of the transfer time but I would wait closer to the time. If I recall its usually a few days so I would look at late Sptember

Thanks! My fear with closer to the time is the seats no longer being available. Doesn't appear they have too many miles tickets currently (maybe because of social distance spacing needed)

Got email from ek:
2nd ams also cancelled in October
haneda cancelled in October

Another 3 of my tickets changed into an open ticket!

Do you pay any fare difference when you book those open tickets let's say in 2021 or 2022?

you mean rebook? There's no way to book an open ticket; they become "open" if you are affected by a covid related cancellation.

Reboobing is free, no fare, tax or yq difference is charged. Also all fare conditions are waived.

Sorry yes I mean rebook in two years time with no fare difference limited to the same region (destination).

But let's say Covid is still here by the end of 2022, you can then ask for a cash refund right?

yes, but by then the time value of money would have reduced your refund by quite a bit (barring any currency movement)

Does anyone know if and when MCO might restart? According to the updates from Routes online, it should restart in September but it remains unbookable .....

https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...as-of-19aug20/

Cheers
