I only see a flight to Boston on March 24th, and then after that there are no flights to the US at all.

We aim to provide affected customers with updated information as early as possible. To receive the latest notifications on your flight, customers should ensure their contact details are updated by visiting manage my booking. Customers can also check the website for their flight status."

Did Singapore not recently announce a close of its borders and transit customers?

Just curious......where will EK store (or park) all of their 100+ A380's Just finding a location to hold them all has gotta be a large challenge for them.

UAE is banning transits. The UAE will suspend all passenger flights into and out of the country, along with the transit of airline passengers, in a move which is expected to see Emirates and Etihad grounded for at least the next two weeks.

UAE's National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management and Civil Aviation Authority enacted the lockdown this morning, following an earlier ruling placing a temporary travel ban which prevents citizens from leaving the country, as the UAE ramps up its efforts to minimise the exposure and spread of Covid-19

Online check in now reduced from 48 hours to 24 hours "due to the current situation where flight suspensions are frequent". From their Covid page.

Is the travel voucher valid for 12 months from the date that the original ticket was issued or 12 months from the date that the travel voucher is issued?
And this passage when you go to request the travel voucher: I understand the fare conditions for my ticket / document as advised at the time of purchase. I understand that if my ticket / document is non-refundable I will only receive a travel voucher or refund of the applicable unused taxes. Is that still valid now through the covid-19 situation? Or they still charge a fee for asking for a travel voucher ? How do you know if your ticket is non refundable? We purchased super saver tickets, paid 6200 aud. Do we get back a travel voucher for the same amount?
Thanks for your answers

All is explained on the EK website. Come back if you still have queries after reading this:

https://www.emirates.com/uk/english/...-updates/#3515

Check it regularly for updates as the situation is extremely fluid, and you may have other rights depending on where you are.

Thanks for your reply, but still i don't understand one thing, the travel voucher is valid for 2 months from the date of issue of the original ticket or from the date of issue of the travel voucher?

tsibis Mar 22, 2020 9:43 pm

Also we booked the tickets on 21st of January for a trip starting on the 15th of June. Tried online to move the booking forward to September due to the current situation but i got a message that as our itinerary is related to a non-flight product can not be done on line through the manage my booking option and to call an office. Almost an impossibility , i was twice for two hours straight on hold and then the line dropped. It almost drove me crazy. I don't know what non-flight product they are refering. The itinerary was MEbourne-Athens via Dubai, then later Athens to Newark which now is suspended and the later Newark to Melbourne. Is the non-flight product the suspended Athens to Newark service?

The latter (and it's12 months, not 2 as you typed which I suspect was a typo).

tsibis Mar 22, 2020 9:49 pm

yep was a typo. So i better wait and request the travel voucher in June so it will be valid until June 2021, at least by then will be again summer in the northern hemisphere and maybe a vaccine available by then. Correct?

tsibis Mar 22, 2020 9:51 pm

also the as it was a Saver, do they still charge the cancellation fee for issuing the voucher? is kind of confusing at this point in time.

As predicted. Now DXB closed for passenger traffic for 2 weeks from Wednesday. Feels like EK and UAE are playing a 'cat and mouse' game here.....

Dubai / UAE restrictions are ramping up too. Malls and restaurants closed now. Max three people per car etc. Everyone to stay at home unless necessary etc.

The situation is volatile and official stance/policies are changing almost daily.. all flights suspended..no some flights suspended...now back to all flights suspended:

Last updated: 23 March 2020, 08:30 Dubai (GMT+4)As per the UAE government’s directive, Emirates will temporarily suspend all passenger services for two weeks starting from 25 March 2020. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused to our customers and travellers. These measures are in place to contain the spread of COVID-19, and we hope to resume services as soon as feasible.
