Just FYI, the EK website is still allowing you to request a refund rather than a voucher. Which is more than the BA website is doing :D

If your original flight is cancelled, then you should be able to get a full refund. If Emirates don't offer this, then do a credit card chargeback.

Tried to do a mock booking on the same date and they no longer offer the same flight schedule/number. They moved me to next day's flight.

Wish we have that credit card protection here in Philippines. I know it's easier to get a charge back in the US. I called the customer center and no one is answering.

Tried Emirates chat and they told me to use the form in the link for COVID19. I wouldn't want to do that since refunds for that link are subject to cancellation penalties.

So what's next for me?

Reuters:

DUBAI (Reuters) - Emirates, one of the world’s biggest international airlines, is suspending all flights to France, Germany, Nigeria, New York and New Jersey due to the coronavirus outbreak, according to internal emails seen by Reuters.

France, Germany and Nigeria flights would be suspended from March 23 until further notice, a company email said.

Flights to New York JFK and New Jersey’s Newark EWR would be suspended from March 24 until further notice, another company email said.

The airline did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment.

Emirates, which has already suspended dozens of routes, said in the emails it was halting the routes because of the virus epidemic that has shattered global travel demand.
