I think all 777-200LR frames are being reconfigured to two class. New F is only on a handful of 77W airframes.

Yes, 10 77Ls in total, I believe No 6 is currently being reconfigured (may be wrong), where F is being removed, the old ones have old F suites obviously. Also MCO has 77Ws on some flights

LOL that is true. But a lot of them think this is going fleetwide and it's going to be on every plane by 2023 or something. But I don't agree.

New deliveries from 2021 only and too expensive to retrofit, according to this 6 month old article.

Maybe the race to have the best over the top FC is losing steam. Having flown BA/AF/EK in the past 18months EK still has the best first overall. I do have to admit AF first service especially on the ground and transferring is spectacular.

I have a AMS-DXB in a few weeks time and noticed that they are releasing STN-DXB in the last couple of days. It's a EK award ticket. Am I right in assuming I can call up and move it to STN and just pay the extra taxes? They allow changes to departure point in same zone right?

Yes - they should be able to arrange that, But is it worth it...? Assuming you are in AMS, is it worth an extra flight to STN for a marginal improvement? I was also going to say a worse lounge, but I guess AMS/STN are not much different!

I am actually in the UK. Booked AMS as cheaper taxes but don't mind paying the extra tax if I can try out the new cabin.

How is EK F better than AF F "overall" ?
Doesn't "overall" include ground service and lounge etc ?

AF has a great ground product for Le Premier their personal assistant from check in, to lounge to plane then connecting at CDG, private lounge cleared us through back entrances driven to connecting planes and personally shown to seats. The AF 380 F is old worn and shows its age. I have not flown the new 777 improved seating. Of all the legacy airlines going back and forth across the pond I like AF

EK has in my opinion the best overall product flying that said I have not flown any of the other ME3 nor Singapore Airlines. Their suites, service, food and lounges coupled with courtesy cars makes a nice experience. I have been fortunate to have 6 six trips and another one booked
