Information on Load requests
The number of seats for sale for a flight are available via ExpertFlyer.com, a subscription-based service with a 5-day free trial. A subscription is $9.99/month and can be enabled and disabled any time. It is encouraged to subscribe rather than post repeatedly in this thread.
NB: Op-up changes or overselling of a flight cannot be determined with certainty from this information, only inferred to be more or less probable.
For a once-off load request please follow these guidelines:
Flight loads >7 days out are not very useful, as the airline could still sell many seats, unless availability of a specific fare bucket (e.g. Business Saver upgrade) is requested. If you wish to know the general flight load please don't post >7 days before departure.
When requesting a load please provide the following information:
- Date of flight (departure date)
- Flight Number
- Origin
- Destination
These four fields are mandatory in searching on ExpertFlyer (see screenshot below) and it isn't fair to except those who pay for their subscriptions to also have to go look up which cities a specific flight number is from and to (also some flight numbers are onward flights (5th freedom routes, e.g. CMB-MLE) and loads will differ significantly depending on which sector of the flight is checked.

We're business class on all 3 legs outbound, economy class on all 3 legs inbound, EK have quoted just over 5K for 2, upgrading from economy to business class on the return.
Can anyone advise on business class availability on the following?
Feb 02
LGK - KUL: Malaysia 1459
KUL - DXB: Emirates 343
DXB - BHX: Emirates 39

Checking F availability
Hi everyone,
First time using FT, but long time reader and lurker. I'm wondering if anyone could help me check loads and availability on EK9 Dxb to LGW on Sunday 26th, please?
I'm flying with my Stepbrother and we booked our tickets separately. I'm Gold and he's on my household account. I'm pretty certain the tickets are the cheapest saver tickets.
A few questions
1. In your experience, what do you think the chances are of an op up on this flight?
2. Is there any way of finding out of there is award availability. MMB says not, but I can keep checking.
3.do you think it's worth upgrading the lounge part (paid) in Dxb for the first class lounge experience if I can't upgrade the ticket?
4. What's the loads looking like on this flight?
Cheers all.

Hi Brink, congratulations on finding your voice in the FT community!
I'm sure that someone will come along who can run a load check request for you, but in future please use this thread to make requests according to the wiki. I'll try help you out with some information.
1. EK changed their policy regarding op-ups last year and priority is now given to those who paid the highest fare for their tickets and platinum members. After that, you might be in with a chance but imo that route is usually heavy with plats. Being on saver fares puts you down at the bottom. I assume you're already travelling in J as you only get to upgrade one cabin class (unless you get an op up and then use miles).
2 and 4: you'll need to find a kind person with an expert flyer subscription to look that up for you.
3: These things are always a value judgment on behalf of the person paying for it. For example: I'm going to pay into the DXB F lounge next week because I really cannot be bothered leaving the airport for my 9h transit despite STPC (I've already done this 6x this year and want a change of scene). For that I get 4h, hoping for longer. I want to sleep on a (flatter than the J lounge) lounger, shower (without the massive queues), eat (from the a la carte menu), smoke cigars and perhaps drink some nice wine (which is really where i'll get my money's worth). For that, I'll happily pay $100. Think what you want out of your lounge experience and then put a price on it.
Safe travels, hopefully someone else can help you out with loads.

I'd not count on an op-up on a LON route, especially on Savers. 26th too far ahead to see anything meaningful in the load.

No Z or D award availability on EK9.

EF shows no F award availability (Z fare) for any DXB/LGW flight that day.
Note that it is quite early (12 days out) to do a load check that is anywhere near meaningful for an op-up possibility.
(edit: Flaneurs just beat me to it, with the same comment!)

Oh, and I said EK was selling 3 F on this flight when actually it is 4 available (at full fare First). My apologies.

Manage a Booking will tell you the same as Expert Flyer and both have an alert mechanism. That's only any good to you when check in opens at T -48 hours, as your Saver ticket can't be upgraded until then.

By the way, what is the easiest way to copy / paste this information? This is the first time I answer a flight load request. I am using Safari in a MacBook and the copy / past was a bit cumbersome....
