Information on Load requests

The number of seats for sale for a flight are available via ExpertFlyer.com, a subscription-based service with a 5-day free trial. A subscription is $9.99/month and can be enabled and disabled any time. It is encouraged to subscribe rather than post repeatedly in this thread.

NB: Op-up changes or overselling of a flight cannot be determined with certainty from this information, only inferred to be more or less probable.

For a once-off load request please follow these guidelines:

Flight loads >7 days out are not very useful, as the airline could still sell many seats, unless availability of a specific fare bucket (e.g. Business Saver upgrade) is requested. If you wish to know the general flight load please don't post >7 days before departure.

When requesting a load please provide the following information:

- Date of flight (departure date)
- Flight Number
- Origin
- Destination

These four fields are mandatory in searching on ExpertFlyer (see screenshot below) and it isn't fair to except those who pay for their subscriptions to also have to go look up which cities a specific flight number is from and to (also some flight numbers are onward flights (5th freedom routes, e.g. CMB-MLE) and loads will differ significantly depending on which sector of the flight is checked.

Thanks for all the helpful feedback. In essence, sounds like getting into First by any means other than paying cash is very slim indeed. So I'll not build up any hopes of that.
I quite like the idea of paying for an upgrade into the First lounge in DXB, but I do like that champagne bar in the business lounge. Having said that, nothing to prevent us doing a bit of lounge hopping on the day. Sometimes three hours just isn't enough time - might have to get there earlier to fully enjoy the offerings lol.

By the way, what is the easiest way to copy / paste this information? This is the first time I answer a flight load request. I am using Safari in a MacBook and the copy / past was a bit cumbersome....
I wonder if EF doesnt have different versions for different locations. Mine reports times using 12 hour clock and yours did 24 which is more typical for the rest of the world outside the USA. We literally pulled the info almost simulaneously so it truly is funny that the reliability numbers didnt match. Oh well, one of the great mysteries of the ages, I guess. At least the load info was the same

As far as cut and paste for the load request numbers goes, I use an iPad most of the time and it is indeed a little cumbersome also. I have learned exactly where to try to grab the copy in the middle and then spread out to the limits of the end and then the beginning. Once you have the hang of it it isnt too bad but certainly isnt fluid either. I have never tried it from a Mac so maybe somebody else has better info on how to do it.

Hello folks,
Just wondering if there has been much change to the loads on a flight to the UK from Dxb at the weekend:
- Date of flight (departure date) 26th Nov 2017
- Flight Number: EK9
- Origin: DXB
- Destination: LGW

Thanks so much for your help. Very much appreciated.

I don’t think it looks a whole bunch different, Brink. Here you go:

EK 90DXB

Daily
77% / 15mF3 A0 J7 C7 I7 O0 P0 Y9 E9 R9 W9 M9B9 U9 K9 H0 Q9 L0 T0 V0 X0

For everbody’s reference, the old load was:
F4 A3 J7 C7 I0 O0 P0 Y9 E9 R9 W9 M9B9 U9 K9 H0 Q9 L0 T0 V0 X0

I believe they sold an F ticket and the are no longing offering discounted F. With I fares opening up to 7, I think that means they are now selling more discounted J fares.

Help - Travel with pregnant wife EK216 30.11.

Dear experts,

I am an EK Gold and traveling with my pregnant wife on this 16 Hour flight (EK 216 LAX-DXB 30.11).

1.) We were booked with Flexplus ticket in Economy
2.) a few days ago I called EK to upgrade my wife to Business with Skywards miles - they split the reservation and have done so as I dint have enough miles for both of us
3.) Wife is pretty upset as she rather travels with me in Economy than alone is Business

Questions:

I am ready to follow her wish to downgrade her again, if we for example get a complete middle row in Economy so she can lay down during the flight. Or both travel in business in case there is a chance of a Opup for me.

a.) I followed the link and found the following information: F4 A4 J7 C7 I7 O0 P7 Y9 E9 R9 W9 M9 B9 U9 K9 H0 Q9 L9 T0 V0 X0
What do you guys think about the booking situation?

b.) Seatmap shows very less reserved seats. The blocked ones in the front of Y are all preferred seatings (which are lets say 50% occupied when I check on EK under managing booking). The back of the plane (last third) is completely blocked and can not be reserved. Call center doesn't know why too

What would you guys do? Reserve one seat in the middle row? Further back? So the chances are there to get a complete row? Please advise. Thanks so much!!!!

Personally would reserve rear cabin in the same row, then get to the airport early and ask for manual reassignment to wherever was suitable if possible.

Flight looks empty, as mentioned grab opposite ends of middle row in the back, at check-in mention preggo wifey and enquire whether the flight is full and the agent thinks the seats between you will stay open (and whether they are in fact still open. I'd go 4-5 rows from the back to not be too close to whatever is in the back (I'm guessing A380, only part of the plane I haven't been is aft lower deck)
