Information on Load requests

The number of seats for sale for a flight are available via ExpertFlyer.com, a subscription-based service with a 5-day free trial. A subscription is $9.99/month and can be enabled and disabled any time. It is encouraged to subscribe rather than post repeatedly in this thread.

NB: Op-up changes or overselling of a flight cannot be determined with certainty from this information, only inferred to be more or less probable.

For a once-off load request please follow these guidelines:

Flight loads >7 days out are not very useful, as the airline could still sell many seats, unless availability of a specific fare bucket (e.g. Business Saver upgrade) is requested. If you wish to know the general flight load please don't post >7 days before departure.

When requesting a load please provide the following information:

- Date of flight (departure date)
- Flight Number
- Origin
- Destination

These four fields are mandatory in searching on ExpertFlyer (see screenshot below) and it isn't fair to except those who pay for their subscriptions to also have to go look up which cities a specific flight number is from and to (also some flight numbers are onward flights (5th freedom routes, e.g. CMB-MLE) and loads will differ significantly depending on which sector of the flight is checked.

There you go.
Hi all,

I'm doing the trial with EF and loving it! Just a question on the flight above. It was showing F4 A4 J7 C7 and the rest as 0. Today I7 has appeared so it is like the results lucafrost gave me.

All the economy is showing 0 but how do you know how much it is oversold by? Or do you just make an educated guess that it is oversold.

Thanks!

Educated guess, only internal EK Data Shows oversold data. EK generally will oversells by up to the number of unsold seats in higher cabins, so if J and F have combined 20 available and Y are all 0 it's likely oversold by 10-20. However individual flights all are slightly different based in revenue management's forecasts, if they reliably sell last minute J seats for example they might oversell Y a little less.

My guess is that it's impossible to interpret the numbers we see on here. A page or two ago I asked about flights of mine and the numbers given bore no resemblance to what could actually be purchased. There's just too much black magic.

Absolutely. Even the internal numbers. Had a flight last year which at T-48 was over by 20 in Y, I got all excited, it went out under by 2 or 3.

DXB GLA tomorrow is massively overbooked in Y, limited in J and a few seats in F.

Busy but not as busy as GLA.

If you are flex plus - very good chance ex DXB to GLA. Most flights are over to the UK at the moment.

When checking in tonight for EK303, I was told the onward flight (Glasgow) has 'not been closed' and a few seats still available.

No idea how their systems work

Sorry didn't see you had posted here, too. And that the flight also goes to DXB, hence my comment in the other thread about route mattering. Yes indeed, looks like if you're flying MLE-DXB there may be a chance of an op-up!

So 653 is CMB-MLE-DXB, interesting, quite circular. I'd have thought it'd be MLE-CMB-DXB or DXB-CMB-MLE...
