Information on Load requests

The number of seats for sale for a flight are available via ExpertFlyer.com, a subscription-based service with a 5-day free trial. A subscription is $9.99/month and can be enabled and disabled any time. It is encouraged to subscribe rather than post repeatedly in this thread.

NB: Op-up changes or overselling of a flight cannot be determined with certainty from this information, only inferred to be more or less probable.

For a once-off load request please follow these guidelines:

Flight loads >7 days out are not very useful, as the airline could still sell many seats, unless availability of a specific fare bucket (e.g. Business Saver upgrade) is requested. If you wish to know the general flight load please don't post >7 days before departure.

When requesting a load please provide the following information:

- Date of flight (departure date)
- Flight Number
- Origin
- Destination

These four fields are mandatory in searching on ExpertFlyer (see screenshot below) and it isn't fair to except those who pay for their subscriptions to also have to go look up which cities a specific flight number is from and to (also some flight numbers are onward flights (5th freedom routes, e.g. CMB-MLE) and loads will differ significantly depending on which sector of the flight is checked.

My flight tomorrow is Y9 but already oversold by 3. Seats for sale is not a reliable determinator. In fact EK will oversells by as much as 20-30 even in some cases.

Was looking at my return flight from DXB to LGW on 30 August (EK11) and they aren't selling any economy tickets, does that mean they have oversold?

Most likely. In my experience EK will sell all available Y seats + all available J seats + all available F seats as Y seats (i.e. if there are 3 seats open in F, 10 in J and 10 in Y EK will sell a further 23 Y seats) +/- whatever their forecast says will still be sold, which is quite accurate.

That means it may be oversold in Y, it may just be sold out exactly, with the expectation that there will also be full J and F cabins, it may also open up again if the forecast sales in J and F don't meet expectations or if someone cancels in Y.

A lot of movement on loads takes place in short spaces of time, For a flight on the 30th it is impossible to confirm now that it will be oversold, even if it is right now.

Hey guys,

Flying DXB LAX next week! Found this on expertlfyer:

EK 215 0 DXB
08/19/17 8:55 AM LAX
08/19/17 1:55 PM 388
Daily
29% / 35m

F4 A4 J7 C7 I7 O7 P0 Y2 E2 R2 W0 M0 B0 U0 K0 H0 Q0 L0 T0 V0 X0

What is the likeliness of op-ups (Y-J specifically)? Ive never been able to gauge the likeliness of one!

Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks

They will even if it's oversold if there are seats in J and F - they will sell what they can get the loads out full.

If the flight is very overbooked in economy there might be 15/20 op-up ;
there's usually a few no-shows / rebooking (especially in J)
