What political situation? And yes, MEX would be after some further US expansion to probably IAD, ORD, maybe EWR?
Both ATQ and GOI are currently served by AI/IX, so maybe the Indian government didn't give permission for service launch for competition reasons, since they're doing the same with Emirates A388s. Also, although I'm going back on my statement, I've noticed that carriers except for BD (who clubs traffic) serve ATQ and GOI with narrowbody aircraft, of which EK has none, but like in other areas of the world, they could replant and grow that market. I though of CEB since it has no direct flights to the Middle East, considering the considerable Filipino population only MNL is served. But I'm not sure about regions and market linked to the Filipino population of the Gulf. Yep, HAN and HKT, I would agree with you. Probably not non-stop flights, but continuations from an airport in SE Asia, or maybe even India since there's a lot of Indian tourists in Phuket, but there's always that permission request problem. There was some talk of that capacity being increased once IT, 9W and AI gained some market share, but given the financial state of at least two of those carriers, things look bleak. Indigo seems to have made a good entry into the market. Though if they want to compete they need to do better than one daily flight on a narrowbody in the middle of the night. Doesn't compare with 5x daily DEL/BOM on long haul EK birds. |

Qatar Airways serves CEB, though the airline announced a few days ago that it was ending the service.

Expansion to India isn't possible because of a limit on the number of seats UAE carriers are allowed to operate. That is shared among Emirates, Etihad, FlyDubai, Air Arabia etc. Emirates would rather operate widebodies to 10 destinations than multiple low frequency flights.

Hmmm. Could EK is considering service to Liberia. Isn't DXB is a slot controlled. There is no room to parked the aircraft in concourse 2.
I wouldn't be surprised if EK dropped ABJ off EK787/788 for ROB @:-) |

Liberia is the next shining star on West Africa's map with the recent major oil finds. With the amount of major construction works (infrastructure, mining and O&G) announced or in the pipeline, cargo influx for the next few decades will be provided :D

The 1000th B777 livery
The 27th of February 2012 saw the unveiling of A6-EGO, the 1000th B777 to be built and delivered by Boeing.
Take a look at the pics below, quite a sleek looking livery. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-pfodFjPU76...0th+B777_1.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-p6oIEUD189...0th+B777_2.jpg |
