The Airbus 340-300 currently deployed on one of Munich’s two daily flights, EK 051, will be replaced with a larger Boeing 777-300 from 25th March, giving a 36% boost to seat capacity.

Similarly, the A340-300 supporting one of the twice daily flights to Dusseldorf, EK 057, will be switched to a 777-300ER as of 1st June, giving a 36% increase in the number of seats available.

Additionally, the A330-200 serving one of Frankfurt’s three daily flights, EK 043, will be upgraded to a 777-300ER from 1st October, giving a 49% boost in seat capacity.

So its

IAD - 2

ORD - 0

for now.

I'm going to slap Tim Clark if he comes out with some wacko route like Boston.

Boston is not all that wacko. It is definitely around the top of the list of future North American destinations. IAD, ORD, MIA and BOS is my top 4, in that order.

Face81 Mar 13, 2012 9:14 am

Botswana next for EK and EY?

Emirates Looks to U.S. to Push Global Reach

Updated March 11, 2012, 5:03 p.m. ET
By DOUG CAMERON

The Seattle flight joined existing U.S. services to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth, with Washington, D.C., widely seen by observers as the next route, though Mr. Clark declined to comment beyond saying that an announcement on a seventh U.S. route was imminent.

420/421 PER goes 77W from 31st March due to strong growth to the US and Africa.
They are also looking at A380 and 3rd Daily in the future.

Also, EK will get 22 777s this year!

Something Omani journalists know that we don't?

Seattle became the sixth American destination to have Emirates’ non-stop or direct daily flight from Dubai. With at least two more daily direct flights expected to be commissioned this year Emirates plans to connect almost all major US cities and state capitals with direct flights from Dubai in the next two to three years. Washington DC and Chicago are the next two destinations where Emirates plans to have non-stop flights this year.

Twenty-two 777s? Wow! How many of those are freighters though? By the way it this year as in 2012? Or are you commenting on the upcoming EK 'fiscal year' running from April onwards?

On emirates.com , manage my booking it says that EK3705/3706 is operated by 777-300 but in this thread some say 330-200. Which is correct?

I knew someone in J on DXB-SEA today and they said that 4/42 J seats were taken.

Does anyone have any insight as to how long it usually takes for an EK route to catch on/become profitable, and how this relates to the current performance of the Seattle flight?

I really hope this route lasts!

Hey! That's not nice! You better say sorry to him. Don't try to used inappropriate things to Mr. Clark.

If those route does not work out very well. They will have find someplace else. I wasn't sure if those route doesn't have a last longer. Maybe EK will have reduced the frequency.

I'm putting my vote on IAD. People from DC are more than willing to pay for premium cabin services and the Ethiopian population in DC would prefer to fly on Emirates to Addis Abbaba over Ethiopian Airlines any day.

So the votes are -

IAD - 4

ORD - 0
