LHR will then have 4 A388 and 1 B77W operating, while MAN will see one each A388, B77W and B773. The 3am flight to LGW EK011/012 has reverted to B772. It was planned to operate with B773.
5 flights from LHR 3 flights from LGW 2 flights from BHX 3 flights from MAN 1 flight from NCL 1 flight from GLA That's 14 widebody flights from the UK to DXB, day in, day out. And on just one airline. |

I count those as 15. 16 when you add the second GLA
Does any other non-UK airline have so much capacity into the UK? |
LH might beet them on flights but not capacity.

If you want to compare EK to another long-haul carrier, EK certainly now beats AC, which has 8-10 flights to LHR per day, depending on the time of the year. AC used to fly in the summer also to MAN and GLA, but they have not done so for a few years.

EK planning to operate additional flights on Indian routes, also waiting for clearance to use 380. |
First post on this site. I am flying Emirates Business Class from Manchester to Melboune on 1st March. Going on EK20 from Manchester and EK406 from Dubai to Melbourne. I seem to get conflicting views of what seats are like, i.e. are they sleeperettes or lie flat as even the Emirates site says one thing but my seat booking says another when I go into it. Has anyone flown on these 2 flights recently and can advice on seat type.
Thanks |
Hi BostonPilgram,

From March 25 onwards, Emirates is to operate B77L equipment on the new DXB SIN service EK0354/0355. This new service started last week as a 5 weekly B77W operation and will change to a daily B77L flight in March. EK is expected to extend this flight with a tag on, as it is currently sitting on the ground in SIN for 12 hours. DPS has been most frequently mentioned as a tag on for this route.
EK0354 DXB SIN 0325 1445 daily B77W from 01FEB/daily B77L from 25MAR EK0355 SIN DXB 0200 0510 daily B77W from 02 FEB/daily B77L from 26 MAR I mentioned this before, and I'll mention it again cause it's a great indicator of what's going through the minds of the movers, and shackers in Dubai. Dubai hotel group Jumeirah looks to Bali for next resort. |
EK to go daily to Baghdad from 2nd February

Do we know if the latest round of bilateral negotiations has taken place? Believe EK (and FZ) had maxed out the 54,000 weekly seats allocated to them.

Yes, right now, they already in negotiations from Indian government. If there is subject of Indian governement approval and they will permitted to bring A380 into India. It will take a while when they have a finalization government approval.
Right. Let's wait and see if Indian government will have an approval to start A380 service to BOM or DEL or someplace else. Not until much later in the year it seems :( |
