This new service started last week as a 5 weekly B77W operation and will change to a daily B77L flight in March. EK is expected to extend this flight with a tag on, as it is currently sitting on the ground in SIN for 12 hours. DPS has been most frequently mentioned as a tag on for this route.

EK0354 DXB SIN 0325 1445 daily B77W from 01FEB/daily B77L from 25MAR
EK0355 SIN DXB 0200 0510 daily B77W from 02 FEB/daily B77L from 26 MAR

Sounds like Y loads are not what they should be, otherwise there's be no reason to downgrade capacity. I'm sure the new J and F cabins will be appreciated, and that's where the yields are to/ from SIN.

But this makes it less likely for them to operate a tag on. Filling a 77L shouldn't be hard.

In that case, there is really no reason to have the aircraft sit on the ground for 12 hours. It could return to DXB in the early evening and arrival in the midnight arrivals bank. SIN does not such an arrival, and the likes of BKK, KUL, CGK, MNL all do. Either this flight will be extended somewhere or its return portion will be retimed.

This works out exceptionally well for me, as I had to begrudgingly choose what was previously a Sky Cruiser flight due to lack of availability. Now, all 6 of my flights in F will be in Suites, and I will get to add a new aircraft type to my list of flown types. I just hope they don't change their minds!

Nothing official yet. Let's wait and see. Maybe in the future.

Loads in all classes appeared to be high, no idea why the downgrade on aircraft. Also, any idea where the second 77L has gone, because I have the impression that PER requires 2 77L due to the ULR status of the flight whilst this SIN route would only require 1 77L? I haven't researched this yet.

The Perth flight requires 1.5 77L.
The plane usually continues on to Geneva and returns in time for the return flight back to Perth.

Effective 01JUL, EK007/008 DXB LHR and EK021/022 DXB MAN will swap equipment, with the B773 going to MAN and the B77W going to LHR. Both flights are from the 3am departure bank and operate along very similar schedules. LHR will then have 4 A388 and 1 B77W operating, while MAN will see one each A388, B77W and B773. The 3am flight to LGW EK011/012 has reverted to B772. It was planned to operate with B773.

EK77W Jan 13, 2012 1:32 am

EK420/421 DXB-PER remains at B77L

This is quite an incredible number of flights out of the UK - am I right in saying there are

5 flights from LHR
3 flights from LGW
2 flights from BHX
3 flights from MAN
1 flight from NCL
1 flight from GLA

That's 14 widebody flights from the UK to DXB, day in, day out. And on just one airline.

Given that the largest base of Skywards members is in the UK, that is hardly surprising!

Is there already more news about the A380 coming to Amsterdam? Unfortunately it was not mentioned in the airlinerroute update in the post of EK77W.
