My mom flew EK 029 last week from Dubai to Heathrow in J and I got an angry text at boarding asking why I had put her on some horrible "non A380" plane. :p
I told her the service is much better on the non A380 planes and she seemed to be convinced. I was scared it was going to be changed to a deeply reclining plane (which has happened before)! Apparently her sister (who lives in London) was convinced all LHR routes had the A380. |

EK to start Dubai - Phuket nonstop flight, as EK378/379. Data filed in OAG around 1500hrs and loaded in the GDS. Reservation to be open shortly.
Service starts from 10DEC12. http://airlineroute.net/2012/08/01/ek-hkt-dec12/ http://www.routesonline.com/news/36/...ons-to-phuket/ Just the right time DME gets the A380 on 1st Dec. BTW: A lot of Swedes like to go to Thailand/Bali (8% of Swedes travel abroad go to Asia/Pacific). It's about time EK to start ARN. |

Really? You actually fly for the bar? And there I was thinking ppl fly cuz they need to get from a to b!
Not sure why anyone would prefer the 380 over the 777ER No-one mentioned it as being a reason for flying until you came back with an attempt to mock that preference. 'Nuff said. |

I am new to this thread, so sorry if I'm going over old ground, but I was looking just now on ebookers for a flight between LHR-SIN in the run up to Singapore Grand Prix weekend, and it seems EK354 between DXB and SIN on Tues 18 Sep is now an A380?
SIN is well known to be EK's last major Asian airport that doesn't get the A380, so when was this announced? Is it a mistake? Or is it just Emirates anticipating more traffic to SIN for Singapore Grand Prix weekend? Great news, I just hope it is for longer than the poster claimed in the previous page. |
QR will launch daily flights to ORD next April. Any effects on EK might start or not start ORD?
|
EK better wake up and just announce the ORD flight. They will lose out on the good pax loads...
|
There are some destinations which i think EK has been overlooking for a long time and these are being taken over by QR.i.e. Mombasa, Zanzibar, and many exotic countries in Africa and Asia.

No, but give it another 30 days or so.
Will it be daily? Will it be non-stop? If they have the fifth freedom rights, could they do BOS-BCN/ATH-DXB similar to how they started JFK with JFK-HAM-DXB? Before the partnership with JetBlue, I thought that would be the only way Boston would get a gulf carrier would be via a tag-on from an unserved European destination. |

Perth will most likely be a new 380 destination in 2013. :)
