Don't think this year cause such new routes need some time to market; announcment to first flight will last 4 to 6 months. BOS, ORD and MIA should be next in the USA (just read the last pages of this thread).

Emirates ponders Dallas expansion
Not sure how valid this report is but it claims loads are so high on DFW that EK is considering a double daily flight given that the airport is not 380-ready.

EK could start by upgauging the current B77L to a B77W if additional capacity were needed, unless the airline is looking for more premium seats, of course.
|
If anything is to be said about recent loads, EK would probably be best getting back to double daily LAX before going double daily DFW. The only thing the article doesn't consider however is that the existing 380 would struggle to make it to DFW, and thus I don't see it happening in the near future. I'm still waiting for the 380 to venture to SFO!

By the way, most of these updates you read it here, actually comes from Airline Route, not FlyerTalk (although sometimes I decided to post it on FT before scheduled post on AR goes up). What I did was throwing new information, along with previously reported changes (that hasn't seen any new adjustments, and definitely not reported for the first time). |

Emirates adds passengers and cargo capacity for Malta
Emirates will operate with a larger aircraft, an Airbus A340-300 on the Dubai – Larnaka - Malta route.
As from today, Emirates started operating the new aircraft and travelers and cargo customers from Malta will benefit from additional seating and cargo capacity. Offering a total of 267 seats and 13 tonnes of cargo capacity in each direction, the new aircraft is replacing the Airbus A330-200 which was initially introduced in April 2002. Emirates currently flies daily on the Dubai - Larnaka - Malta - Larnaka - Dubai route. "Operating daily, Emirates is now one of the main scheduled carriers in Malta. We are experiencing growth and we felt the need to offer a larger capacity aircraft in terms of seats and cargo capacity," Paul Fleri Soler, Emirates Manager for Malta said. "The A340-300 will provide our customers with the latest comforts and amenities on board while our multilingual cabin crew will provide the highest levels of service and care throughout the flight." Designed for optimum comfort on long-haul travel, the A340-300 carries 12 seats in First class, and 42 in Business class, while offering generous space for 213 passengers in Economy class. Passengers in First and Business class can take advantage of the cutting edge 'ice' (information, communication, entertainment) system, offering an extensive range of entertainment channels on demand while a selection of films is offered in Economy class. All passengers will enjoy the award-winning service from Emirates' international cabin crew and in-flight gourmet cuisine. http://www.maltatoday.com.mt/en/maga...Malta-20121001 |
Phuket service will be operated by A340-300, instead of A330-200.
