" What's for dinner ? " is the first thing my kids say walking through door every single day after school.
Not even a " hi Dad. " I love it. Tonight is their favourite - Thai seafood noodles with roast garlic chicken oyster thighs. |

I just called the butcher to chop up some sirloin this afternoon. A big helping of steak tartare sounds yummy! |

Last night, I made myself eggs benedict. Every once in a while, I get a major hankering for 'em. I'd probably make it more often if it weren't for the time it takes to make hollandaise from scratch, the number of pots and pans used, and the resulting mess/cleanup. Actually, I quite enjoy making hollandaise. Along with it... Jack on the rocks. |
Chicken w/ salsa and cheese slow cooked in the crockpot with homemade fried shells and chips. good basketball watching food.
|
I'm going to try out a cache of frozen food I recently discovered in a freezer I didn't know was in use... if that doesn't go well; either chinese takeout or an MRE (I've never used a flameless heatpack before). This could be an interesting evening.
|
Order some Chinese and save the MRE for Doomsday.:p
I'm going to be brining some chicken breasts for the Weber grill tonight. |
Seafood gumbo with okra, crab, crawfish, and rice on the side.
|
Alaskan Pollack baked with a little dill and lemon juice and a sliced tomato with olive oil drizzled over it (I am currently a bachelor as wife is home in UK looking after her 90 year old mum)
|
Roast chicken, a little mexican corn dish I do, and white rice.
