Did a simple one tonight. Penne pasta with chorizo meat sauce. Sauce is easy, a little gravy, chorizo and garlic pepper.
We're having homemade General Tso's Chicken tonight.
After gorging at Haandi for lunch http://www.haandinyc.com, to the point where we went into a food coma. We are dining at Sette, don't know if I can see any more food.
McDonalds, going to be a long night of work and studying and I can grab some while driving from the laundromat to work.
Dinner tonight will be Easter Lamb, this year as slices of steak, w/ bone, right now marinating in lots of garlic and spices, to be grilled. Baked potatoes and a peppar spicy tomato salad. Washed down with a 2nd Cru Red Bordeaux. Cloudberry Pannacotta and some sweet white Bordeaux to follow.
 |
Some of you will need to cover your ears.... :D
Decent (even if grocery store) dragon roll sushi, toasted cornbread, and a glass of cold milk. Sort of fusion... |
My sister's 13th birthday today so whatever my Mom makes and cake. Always cake.
Homemade chili, homemade cornbread, a glass of cow-made milk.
Went to Parizade here in Durham tonight:
- Two Glenlivets on the rocks, plus half a bottle of Chardonnay (split with my Dad) - Appetizer of Baked Eggs which came with toast, chorizo, peppers and onions - Entree of seafood risotto (shrimp and scallops of course) - Dessert of Bananas Napoleon |
Haluski, halupki, and fresh kielbasa tonight.

Three great restaurant meals this week via www.doordash.com
Tonight was sushi from SugarFish. Last night was R+D Kitchen and tomorrow will likely be ROC for great Taiwanese dumplings. Love Doordash. |
Moules Normand in Bayeux, France.
Mmmmm, sushi.
Leftover Jambalaya from the Elephant Bar restaurant. It was unexpectedly good both times.
Chicken & rice, its our staple

Gumbo!
I'm making it today using the Zatarain's gumbo mix box instead of a homemade roux (I don't mind, I like Zatarain's). My gumbo today has bacon, chicken thigh meat, andouille sausage, and shrimp in it, along with okra, red bell peppers, celery, white onion, and green onion. Chicken meat, sausage, and shrimp all heated up and browned in leftover chicken fat in the oven. Added to the liquid: Louisiana hot sauce, Better than Bouillon chicken base, Better Than Bouillon lobseter base. I know it's not cold weather yet, but it was a rainy day. If you haven't made gumbo in a while, think about it! |
A $1 slice of cheese pizza from some semi sketchy place near Penn Station.

If you haven't made gumbo in a while, think about it! We've been in the low 90s and 85% RH for the past 5-6 days, and I'm kind of focused on cold foods at the moment. But I'll remember your recommendation of Zatarain's mix as an alternative to homemade roux (which is something I don't do a reliably good job of in any event). |

Sushi.
On Monday I'll cook up a big pasta dish, a whole box of pasta, four chorizo sausages with the casing removed, jar of Prego and some ketchup and spices and then I put it in tupperware. I heat up some for dinner each weeknight...saves me a lot of time.
Soy/bourbon/lime marinated and grilled flank steak medium rare. Splenda cheesecake.
Red beans and rice, cornbread, and a glass of milk.
Leftover Lou Malnati's pepperoni and green pepper deep dish with extra tomato sauce. (I've been doing low carbs for two months, then a cruise, now one last "fling" before behaving myself again. :))
Mediocre sushi and okay pot stickers via GrubHub. Didn't feel like finding a nearby restaurant.
Yesterday I cut up a bunch of Montreal smoked sausage, added some vodka sauce and a box of penne pasta and put it in the fridge. So tonight I microwaved some and enjoyed it with shredded Parmesan and bread.
We are having Ina Garten's Weeknight Bolognese on this cold winter night. I highly recommend this dish for anyone to try. It's a favorite in our house!

It's a chilly day here so I was in the mood for some comfort food. I threw a bunch of black beans and spicy sausage, along with various spices in the crock pot to cook together for a few hours. Will make some rice in a bit and serve with more hot sauce! :D
I'll have enough leftovers for at least another 3-4 meals this week. |
Friends brought me back burnt ends from Gates BBQ in Kansas City, surely one of the foods that will be served in heaven. :)
Dominos pizza.
Going out for Thai food tonight at Thaiphoon in Raleigh, then bowling where we'll get a bucket of beers.
Making chili right now. House smells good :)
