Ok, this sounds like something prime for tartar sauce.

You likely won't find the natural state of the salmon unless you actually buy it whole and then cut it up. Although I've never had it out of the river fresh, personally, I prefer salmon raw (sushi/sashimi) or as near to it as possible vs. cooked. It's different depending on the fish and the type.

Congrats!

My dinner tonight... brother dropped off a can of kaya (we've been scouring the GTHA for the stuff as it disappeared about three years ago from all the asian supermarkets)... so dinner was italian loaf and kaya... would have added butter but our salted butter has become tasteless in the last year or two... need to find churned butter to see if that has changed too.

Congrats! Your feast has me envious and reminds me vividly of how much better the Chicago Bavette's is over the one in the Park MGM.

We didn't! Some of the salads, and most of the entrees and elotes came home with us.

I've never been to the one in Vegas but the original really is special. That said, the menu has been pared down a bit thanks to COVID.

Dungeness crab was pretty well picked over 10 minutes after my local Costco opened (I should have selected the crab before the champagne ), so king crab it is at an eye watering $122 for a little over 3 pounds.

Thankfully the weather is nice here today, so I also picked up a rib roast that we'll cut into steaks and grill tonight.

Happy NYE to all.

no chance that they’ll have more Dungeness to shelve? I saw staff with trays of crab on Xmas Eve

I love both. Enjoy!!

Zero dungeness at my Costco yesterday. Like last year they had repackaged all the of the giant frozen boxes of king crab legs into bags with the smallest being just under 3 lbs. I had a bag in my basket for a while but put it back as that is too much crab for me to eat and I don't like eating seafood that stretches out for several days. I will get a normal sized package another time. Even the lobster tails had been repackaged to at least 6 big tails in a package and there were only a few of those left. So it will be my favorite pastrami pizza tonight (which is not a bad thing at all). And pizza goes well with champagne.

I was supposed to go out for Chinese tonight. But my daughters friends came over and wouldn’t leave. I lost my appetite. Maybe tomorrow.

Santa Maria tri tip. So anxious to eat that I forgot to take any more pictures after it was sliced!

Santa Maria style tri-tip is probably my single favorite way to eat beef. Slightly ahead of a good New York strip. Yum!,
I prefer it in full Santa Maria style, sliced on a toasted soft french roll with garlic butter and a thin spread of the appropriate salsa.
