We ordered mexican last night. I had a grilled flank steak. Delicious.

Steph3n Jun 30, 2012 9:17 pm

Well I wasn't planning to eat, but my neighbor just brought me some menudo and it was the first time I'd tried it in years, last times I've ever tried, it was just YUCK!

But my taste and adventure horizons have broadened and with some fresh lemon and diced jalapeno and onion, I actually liked the non soupy content (tripe) quite a lot, to my shock, the broth was a bit strong after the hominy and tripe was gone, I had a bit of it and washed the rest out with the bowl :D

However, dinner. MENUDO! :)

Tuesday was Outlaw Chicken Sliders, yesterday was Summertime Pasta with Chicken (broccoli, peas, penne pasta, chicken, mixed with olive oil and garlic). Tonight is a buffet dinner at a German restaurant. :)

ILuvParis Jul 6, 2012 10:12 am

Yesterday was reheated leftover Lou Malnati's deep dish (pepperoni and green pepper, extra tomato sauce with buttercrust ) and a side salad of mesclun, green onions, green peppers and yellow cherry tomatoes with Italian dressing. Oh, and a slice of my very own home made Key lime pie with lots of fresh whipped cream.

magiciansampras Jul 6, 2012 10:36 am

Yesterday was a hot pastrami sandwich with potato pancakes from Artie's. ^

CMK10 Jul 6, 2012 1:11 pm

Steak cookout with my Dad. Steak, pasta, numerous beers.

cblaisd Sep 27, 2013 9:03 pm

Second night for a big pot of homemade chili. Not my best; a little light on the chili powder and a tad heavy on the garlic.

kipper Sep 28, 2013 7:17 am

Dinner tonight--pork burritos with rice and beans. Tomorrow, shepherd's pie. :)

CMK10 Sep 28, 2013 3:36 pm

Going to Fogo De Chao tonight so the better question will be, what isn't for dinner?? :D

You can't add more chili powder?

CMK10 Sep 29, 2013 2:28 pm

Not sure yet, but nothing good. I'm working 6-12 so my options are TGI Friday's (with a discount), Chipotle, Noodles & Co or Firehouse Subs

I'm planning on knocking up a Thai prawn curry....at least I think that's what it'll end up being. I don't have all the ingredients but got the prawns, Thai curry paste, coconut milk and a few other things.

Yahillwe Oct 4, 2013 9:38 am

Dinner tonight is: Chicken in tarragon lemon and mustard sauce..blue potato, yellow and green bean salad and a green salad.. cheese then fruits.

Sweet Willie Oct 24, 2013 7:00 am

Mrs Willie had watched an episode of Barefoot Contessa where Ina made mussels w/a saffron mayo, recorded show for me to watch.

I hadn't prepared mussels in awhile & they were only 2lbs for $5 at my local fish monger, so we made them Ina's way last night for dinner.

DELICIOUS !

Picked up some Jamon Iberico de Bellota a couple of days ago in Spain and have been snacking on it. Very, very good. I'd never had it before

work2fly Oct 24, 2013 9:06 am

Salmon baked with a light garlic aioli
Roasted mini red potatoes
Mixed greens
Albariño

Simple, yet delicious midweek fare ^

EuropeanPete Oct 24, 2013 9:21 am

This week is being impossibly long. I might treat myself to somewhere nice and be lazy.

Talk about mussels, made some last night..

Sautéed shallots/leeks/garlic and fennel.. added lemon/a tiny amount of chicken stock and white wine.. then dumped the mussels.. very very good.. Served with bread/salad and a Puligny Montrachet, great meal.

CMK10 Oct 25, 2013 4:15 pm

Leftover Chinese food. Mmm, leftovers.

BuildingMyBento Oct 25, 2013 10:09 pm

Tonight I spun a figurative wheel-of-dinner:

Smoked kippers, preceded by carrots, but followed by peanut butter and honey. A baguette nudged itself in there somewhere too. Wasn't too hungry, but I still needed to show my organs who's boss.

Drink: lime seltzer

Mrs Willie & I adore fennel but for some reason I rarely think to use when preparing mussels. Nice.

Last night cooked dinner for my parents:

chick pea crackers w/ sweet/spicy chutney

homemade smoked Lake Trout fish dip

seeing as I had some leftover saffron mayo, I prepared the mussels again as an appetizer.

Squash soup w/red pepper coulis & dollop of lowfat yogurt

Grilled Pacific King salmon w/sesame Asian glaze

RancherDave Oct 27, 2013 1:22 pm

Tonight it'll be chicken sausage, salad, along with either baked regular potatoes or baked sweet potatoes. Have to eat early so wife can catch her flight on time.

CMK10 Oct 27, 2013 7:38 pm

Club Sandwich and fries. I always add cucumbers when I can, cucumbers make cold cut sandwiches even better.

gfunkdave Oct 27, 2013 8:49 pm

I made Boeuf Bourgignon with carrots, onions, and mushrooms. I also made a side of oven fries.

A little pecan pie and Ben & Jerry's chocolate chip cookie dough for dessert.

And a couple of gin and tonics.

kipper Oct 28, 2013 10:52 am

Tomorrow's dinner is probably going to be Cheddar Filled Mini Meatloaves with Potato Pancakes. :D

hightide Nov 15, 2013 2:45 pm

Rib eye steak seasoned with garlic
Sour vegetable Salmon Tom Yam soup
Rice

Dinner is my heaviest and most important meal :D

CMK10 Nov 15, 2013 6:47 pm

Did a curry dish with steak, carrots and potatoes (and lots o' spices!) and ate it over rice, excellent ^

cblaisd Mar 22, 2014 8:18 pm

Sesame-and-ginger marinated steaks over charcoal, vegetable stir fry, sourdough bread, and a cold glass of milk. :)

CMK10 Mar 22, 2014 8:51 pm

A Pick 3. It's a TGI Friday's appetizer where you get three half orders of stuff. So I got it with Jack Daniels Wings, pot stickers and potato skins. Crappy and horrible for me, but when I'm working a 12 hour shift here I do what I gotta do.

onobond Mar 24, 2014 10:42 am

Chicken Szechuan (with extra chili) with Basmati rice, fruit salad for desert

$4.90 with my discount :D

I'll be going to our new SmashBurger tonight.

cblaisd Mar 29, 2014 7:16 pm

A nice large ahi steak, seared over charcoal after marinading in a shoyu marinade. Cornbread, blueberries, and a glass of cold milk. ^

CMK10 Mar 29, 2014 7:18 pm

The ladyfriend brought me dinner. Hamburger steak with dirty rice, corn, broccoli, some fruit and a honeybun cake she made. All very tasty ^

aBroadAbroad Apr 2, 2014 9:04 am

Medium-rare lamb loin chops au poivre, with oven roasted vegetable medley (brussels sprouts and asparagus, with a couple of random fingerlings, all tossed in olive oil, lemon and thyme).

I had fully planned on fresh strawberries for dessert but having gorged myself on three chops and a double portion of veg, could not stand to even look at any more food.

Sssoooo yummy!

CMK10 Apr 2, 2014 9:47 am

Can I come over? I'll bring wine.
