Yum! I have never had Sri Lankan crab. How does that compare to other types?

Return to Barney’s gourmet burgers, Sf

carolina chicken sandwich
steak fries
truffle fries

iced tea

first time there since February or March 2020 and the server remembered that we like malt vinegar with our steak fries.

my Carolina chicken was too huge. I removed 1/3 of the chicken and half the bacon. My spouse ended up eating my eschewed chicken and I just left the bacon behind because I can’t imagine how or when I’d eat that leftover bacon.

pandemic 2021 - zero ketchup bottle, only the small cup of ketchup.

I could finish that sandwich but I don’t think I could make much of a dent in those fries.

That looks really delicious but for someone who claims that he rarely eats out, you eat at more restaurants than anyone I know.

The crab noodles
That looks really good.

Taste wise is it closer to Maryland crab than Alaskan?
I am a fan of both but prefer Alaskan. You know me I also love a good SIngapore black pepper crab!

Somewhat , by a huge margin , more like Alaskan

The top photo is the soup the noodles are supposed to be in . The noodles soak up all the goodness & become soft ( these type are not meant to be el dente ) and taste wonderful .. They are served in them at our friend ‘ s home , the violinist & home chef .

Crab “ soup “

Bubor cha cha

The fries were shared at the table; just forgot to mention it!

Everything is safely reopened and we are adjusting our meals. I have three weekday social luncheons this week for sure… plus supper at Singlethread on Friday… combined with recent vacation, it certainly looks like there are more restaurant meals compared to my pre-vax days!
as I said during deep Shelter in Place 2020, a Barney’s burger meal averages $25-30pp for a burger-type meal; nothing gourmet or near Michelin. Definitely not cheap.

Had my first copper river salmon of the year. Pan seared till medium rare with salt and pepper and light lemon. As good as I remembered, and thanks, AMEX, for taking $15 off because the fishmonger was classified as a restaurant.
