Tri tip from Ikedas (auburn CA) - pre-marinated.
i used a slow grill recipe. New for me. I fired up the left side so that it was around 400. Then seared each side of the meat for 5 min. 15-ish minutes on the right side (zero flame) and 10 minutes of rest.

I prefer rare to medium-rare and served medium rare to the family in very thin slices. Big hit.

side dishes:
baked potato
warmed sandwich buns (for the family)
raw carrot & celery
roasted carrots
sauted onions

Mod pizza, serramonte, Daly City CA - after cross country. Total 6 children (5 runners) and 3 parents

shared Italian chopped salad
mod pizza with spicy toppings. I ate half.

im California wasted (stoned) and will surely eat some dessert within a couple hours.

A pre-Thanksgiving Day dinner with part of the family: Pork Roulade (stuffed with cornbread/sausage dressing), roasted asparagus/cherry tomatoes in a Mediterranean cardamom/garlic sauce, cornbread/sausage dressing, homemade cornbread muffins, pork gravy, homemade butterscotch cream pie.

Delia's Tamales. Apparently an institution in So. Texas, and for good reason. Best tamales I've ever had in my life.
