Dinner: angel hair pasta with homemade sauce and a nice Italian DOC
Sauce is made with EVO, tomatoes, garlic, anchovies, Thai chilis, olives, and parmesan cheese - the chilis enhanced all the flavors!

Actually, these were my least favorite on the tasting menu.

The next night, I had Wagyu sliders at Roy’s, and they were the best I’ve ever had!

July lunch menu

I can not ever understand the attraction to fine dining. Looking at the size of those portions and the cost ($42 or $52) for lunch, I would go away just as hungry as when I got there. Call me cheap, but I am satisfied with a good steak (ribeye or prime rib) from Outback for a lot less money with a side of starch already included.

I had Five Guys for the second time in my life. Is the bacon cheeseburger supposed to have two patties? And if there’s a next time, I will order the fries without salt. For a late dinner, I made a veg and lentil soup.

A little burger has one patty, a burger has two. Just like the medium fry is good for 2 people. You don’t often see a spoon, while eating a burger!

I believe their burgers are 2 patties unless it’s a mini burger. Definitely zero salt for the fries.

we recently had a salt issue with a place in Oakdale CA; we solved it upon our return by requesting zero salt on the fries. Very joyful!

Beautiful! In my limited experimentation with homemade pizza, I have been much happier with the results when I've used an uncooked sauce made from canned tomatoes and a few other ingredients than when I've used cooked sauce, whether purchased or home-made.
YMMV I'm sure, but worth a shot.

i would rather skip fries than ever eat them without salt.
Fries need salting the second they come out of the fryer IMO.

I feel it’s ok to add salt even after fries aren’t scorching.

Leftover lentil soup for breakfast, plus two twice-toasted slices of Hasi sourdough (an LA bakery through from Imperfect Foods).

Hmmm, I don't remember seeing 'little burger' on the menu. I obviously glossed over it. The purse spoon was necessary - I couldn't get my mouth on that dang burger! Cut in half, then cut into messy messy small bites. My dad ate the rest of the burger and fries.

I don't mind salt, but they had too much salt. As soon as I took a bite, the memory of my first Five Guys experience (while in DC to see the Obama White House for the holidays) came back to me - the fries are too salty!

I agree, but sometimes order fries without salt in order to add the amount of salt I want, not a ton like some places add.

Salt doesn't really adhere to fries unless they are salted right out of the fryer. It tends to just fall to the bottom. I don't mind salty fries & can't say that I remember having any that were too salty for me.
