This wasn't our original lunch plan earlier - Chả giò and Bò kho, with Cafe Sua Da and Pho for Mrs. L after her doctor's appointment & we're out in Bayside, NY (that's crispy Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Curry Beef Stew Noodles and Iced French-Viet Coffee & condensed milk.)
Shortly afterward, the waiter informed us that the kitchen will be closed for maybe 1 hour as the NYC Health Department just showed up for its food safety inspection, and that they won't be able to get our order cooked. Disappointed, we went next door (Japanese restaurant) instead & settled for 2 Bento Boxes of: Beef Teriyaki & Crispy Pork Katsu - came with Miso Soup, and of course, green tea (no Sake, however) Now, it would be nice to see these served up on our next TPAC flight segment - wishful thinking as they just can't duplicate the freshness at 32,000 ft. ... noticed that one missing pc. of CA roll (quickly consumed already) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...40805_1330.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...40805_1332.jpg Now, I'm curious as the inspection scores earlier today for the place that couldn't serve us, as this hasn't happened to me while dining out in a while. Didn't even see the inspector walked in & s/he must've just walked right into the kitchen & started the checklist ... Lovely pictures ... thanks for posting! ^:) |
Cereal, English Muffin and coffee at home. Not a bad way to start the day ^

Protein shake again. ;)
I think I am going to try to have them most days for one or two meals a day. They are easy to make, taste good and quite healthy for me I think. |

Went to David's Dumplings and Noodle Bar in Raleigh today and had Singapore Rice Noodles and Beef. Now I'm at the Benelux Cafe also in Raleigh with a hot chocolate.

Brunch from Guglhuf here in Durham. It's a German bakery/cafe that's amazing. I also got some baked goods to take home with me:

Another weekend brunch! This time at Irregardless in Raleigh. Their prices are higher for mains ($11-15) but they come with the bread basket pictured as well as coffee and juice:

Cape Charles omelet, would that be a personal touch?
I will add that to my RDU list. |
CMK10 can you pm me a list of your recommended Raleigh restaurants? A friend is having to make multiple business trips there at the moment and it would be nice to share.
